We're happy about the Caltrans decision to help get visitors up to Idyllwild during the Memorial Day weekend. We would appreciate if folks could forward this website link: http://sv08data.dot.ca.gov/memos/files/comalert/051019_1.pdf We appreciate any help getting the word out. Thanks Mgmt

We have taken on a new line of candles from Tyler. They are highly rated, smell good and burn forever. Check them out on your next visit to the gift shop. I have one safely burning at the register as I write this post.

Not sure where my last post on our business went, but we have a new rep at http://paradisecornerrealty.com/. We're still looking for new owners, but whoever it is will get all the info on how to continue to make it a great store and even do better. We're still running the store and will continue to be business as usual. The road closures slowed us for a while, but we're back and with new product. I'll post a few new items next week. In the meantime here are some pics of the store.

Just to update all those folks who love Idyllwild. We got the store back in order after the accident. Among the silver linings in our dark cloud, we now have new carpet, and windows. The carpet really changes the look and feel of the store, and the new windows are dual pane, which will make a big difference when it gets cold, which may be starting next week. Another tidbit to pass on; we decided to put the shop up for sale. After 13 years, we have decided to retire. Judy,... who has worked in the gift shop for over 16 years, continues to work, but only occasionally. Colleen, my lovely wife, will finish her teaching career in June of next year, and will look for something new to do. Me, I’m looking forward to drinking coffee and petting my dog. We will continue to operate our little shop as if it will remain in the family, but we will be looking for someone who can take over the reigns. We will continue providing the best customer experience possible, and will look for new ways to improve the store. We’re confident the next owners will make it even better. It you’re curious, visit hughesproperties.com to see the listing. In the meantime, stop in from time to time, and see what we’ve done. Christmas is out and customers are loving what they see. Oh and one more thing: Tree Lighting is the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It is the town’s biggest yearly event. Come on up and see for yourself. It starts The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, according to Andy Williams. You remember him, right?...Really? No? (I’m getting old).
