Malik Taylor has been a member of ICYOLA since middle school and we are proud to welcome him into the Los Angeles Orchestra Fellowship Program! *WATCH this special report by Spectrum News 1 SoCal on Malik's journey with music and being mentored by Greg Martin (his middle school band leader), Bob Watt (the first Black French horn player hired by a major American Orchestra & LA Phil musician for 37 years, and Charles Dickerson (ICYOLA's Founder, Conductor, & Executive Director)! The Los Angeles Orchestra Fellowship Program is a unique rigorous three-year fellowship program and a a three-way partnership, where Malik will receive instruction from the USC Thornton School of Music, he will mentor the next generation of musicians at ICYOLA, and he will get to play professionally with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra.
