Eighth Grade Graduation!

Ilm Academy celebrated its fourth eighth grade graduation on June 11, 2020 in a very quiet affair limited to only the eight graduates and their parents. The event was organized outside keeping in mind all the rules for social distancing. This year’s graduation will hold special meaning for the school and the graduates as this is a historic time in the lives of all those who attended. The event started with a special word from the school Principal. This was followed by speech...es from the teachers of the grade and the Assistant Principal. After the conclusion of speeches, all eight graduates were awarded their certificates and diplomas. Mariam Malik was specially recognized not only as the Valedictorian for the year but also as a Lifetime Achievement winner, having attended the school since Kindergarten. Raveeha Muneer was recognized as the Salutatorian, and Romaisa Hasan got the award for Special Recognition. This year’s selection for the top positions was a challenge as all students performed outstandingly in their academics and other key areas. The graduates were then given the opportunity to reflect upon their experiences at the school and the time spent here. The event was kept short and all attendees dispersed immediately afterwards with their gifts, lunch boxes, and personalized mini bundt cakes. Despite the secluded and exclusive event, the set up and ceremony was organized with the greatest attention to detail. A very special thanks goes to the school PTA for their hard work in ensuring that the graduation was as memorable as ever for the graduating class. Ilm Academy is very proud of all the graduates, Mariam Malik, Raveeha Muneer, Romaisa Hasan, Javeria Yasini, Isaac Halaweh, Marwa Malikzadah, Mysha Fatima, and Sanya Ghanchi, and wishes them all the best in their future endeavors!

Assalam-alaikum wa rehmatullahi wa barakatahu, Alhamdulillah, the Academic year 2019 has ended. And what an eventful year this has been. As parents of three students attending Ilm Academy, we are simply amazed, in awe and extremely grateful to the staff and teachers at Ilm for their tireless effort in educating our children.... Their passion and dedication is evident as they have managed to complete their respective curriculum under very challenging and unusual circumstances. Not only did the COVID virus disrupt our personal and professional lives, a type of disruption we have never seen in our generation, but it also directly affected our children's education. No one was prepared for these life changing events, not the academic world, nor the parents and certainly not the children. In our conversations with parents whose children go to other private and public schools, we realized that our teachers at Ilm Academy have achieved way more success in teaching the academics AND also managing children who are not used to online classes for such a long stretch at a time, and successfully! Ilm teachers had to work harder, be creative, and manage the new teaching method in spite of facing the same challenges the rest of the world is going through due to COVID. May Allah swt reward each one of the teachers in abundance, aameen. The teachers have not only taught the academic curriculum, but also demonstrated to our children and parents how to rise beyond expectations at times of adversity. MashAllah, Ilm Academy has a strong management, and selfless teachers and children who InshAllah will be role model citizens of the world tomorrow. We were delighted with the way the graduation ceremony was conducted by our teachers with utmost emphasis of all around celebration. Allhamdulliah, it is indeed a blessing to have a compassionate, unbiased, and committed staff and a progressive leadership team. Congratulations once again on the successful completion on yet another school year. Some activities First Grade A worked on in the Spirit Week- dressed in their best Eid clothes, dressed up as essential workers, worked on different craft activities- making butterfly, kite, their classmate Anaya taught how to make the birdhouse, said good things about each other, presented what they did on Eid, made bracelets and others. Alhamdulillah, it was a wonderful week!
