On July 21, 2019, a call came into 911 dispatch at 6:17 pm. The patient is a 14 year old male who jumped into a pool and touched the pool light. Witnesses stated that they saw the patient shake violently and pulled him out of the pool. San Bernardino County Sheriff Deputy Chris Coillot arrived on scene within 3 minutes of dispatch and immediately began performing compression only CPR. One minute after, Yucaipa Medic Engine 552 and 553 arrived on scene. They found the patient ...pulse less and apenic with vomitus. They immediately began high performance CPR and placed the patient on the monitor. AMR Redlands Unit 310 arrived 3 minutes after and assisted in the care of the patient. The patient was defibrillated on scene and they were able to achieve ROSCwhile on scene. Patient was loaded and transported to LLUMC. The patient was discharged home one week after the event , neurologically intact. Today at the Medical Advisory Committee meeting ICEMA was honored to recognize Captain Jason Christfferson, Firefighter Matt Perkins, Firefighter Ryan Gladney, Firefighter Paramedic Caleb Pohren, Engineer Eathen Klapp, Captain Allen Miller, Paramedic Timothy Gregory, Paramedic James Hamon, EMT Anthony Fascinato, and Deputy Chris Coillot.
