Dead iPhone 7 plus in for data recovery. It had a ram short. I don't remember the exact dcps symptom but it probably had amps go high after prompt to boot (.5 -1a). I have tried this in the past, always ending in failure. It has been a pretty long time so I thought to give it another shot I removed ram with razor blades and lower heat (250c).... When ram was off, I tested to see how the board behaved. It would sit at .06a upon prompt to boot and would only connect to pc in dfu mode. It would not switch to recovery mode. This is a familiar (hard) symptom. I have seen it be bad i2c lines and I believe also seen it be missing power rails. Now I can also confirm that it is possible for this symptom to be a bad ram. I had a donor ram I bought from vipprogrammer, its the only place I have ever found them. I reballed it with leaded solder because I had tried to use it already in the past. After it was in place I was very happy to see that the phone booted with data available to take. Im stoked! @ iBoard Repair
