*Updated post The City of Huron Police Department was recently asked to address residents’ concerns regarding a rumor of a patient of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19). At that time, after thoroughly researching the facts and communicating with numerous Federal, State, County, and Local Agencies including the Fresno County Public Health Department, our investigation found no confirmation of that rumor, at that location, at that time. Today, on 04/07/2020 the City of Huron Police D...epartment was informed by the Fresno County Public Health Department of a singular positive case for a patient confirmed to have contracted the coronavirus (Covid-19) within our City; at a completely separate location than the previous rumor. Confidentiality and Federal HIPAA Laws prevent any further details from being released on this. This positive case is not connected with the city of Sanger. (No wedding took place in Huron related to people from Sanger). Our City Residents are strongly encouraged to comply with the Stay at Home, and Social Distancing Orders issued by our State Governor. The City of Huron Police Department is here to Serve and Protect All of our Citizens. We will attempt to gain Voluntary Compliance from our Citizens; however rest assured that should Voluntary Compliance not work, we will utilize Legal Intervention including the possibility of Arrests, for violations of the State and Federal Laws regarding this current Covid-19 Emergency. Residents can also visit CDC.gov website for more information on Covid-19. See more
