The book drive has been extended through March 15 - help us reach the 500 Books Goal! Thank you. Please consider helping the Eureka NAACP reach its book drive... goal of 500 books by the end of February by purchasing a book or a gift certificate at these bookstores: Blake's Books (McKinleyville), Northtown Books and Tin Can Mailman (Arcata), and Eureka Books and Booklegger (Eureka). The goal of the book drive is to provide students with the opportunity to read Black stories to enrich their lives. The drive is an investment in our future and our children by broadening access to diverse books that focus on Black voices and giving them a mirror into similar experiences, or a window into new ones, to promote diversity, empathy, equity, and equality. Pick up a free sock puppet kit from any branch of the library beginning Saturday, November 21, while supplies last. Kits are designed by Quack & Wabbit. Instructions are included, but the videos are even better, especially to learn how to glue the eyes in place.
