Men, Mental Health, and Wellness is a webinar featuring mental health and wellness experts from Fresno State, Humboldt State, and Stanislaus State with the intention to create a brave and safe space that normalizes, destigmatize, and promotes healthy behaviors students can incorporate into their daily lives. This event will have an emphasis on strengthening the support men receive, however, many of the topics at hand will be applicable to others. North Coast elected officials and other leaders have shared their perspectives about the possibility of Humboldt State becoming a polytechnic. ----------------...------------ Like many universities in the country, Humboldt State University is facing unique challenges due to COVID and changing conditions for higher education. In California, we are lucky to have a strong model of polytechnic universities that could bring new opportunities to HSU and the students it serves, while continuing to offer its current curriculum. Becoming the third polytechnic university in the CSU system could be an exciting way forward for HSU, its students, and the North Coast community. -Congressman Congressman Jared Huffman ---------------------------- "The North Coast is so fortunate to have Humboldt State as part of our community and the polytechnic designation would be an extraordinary opportunity for Northern California. HSU already has the third highest percentage of students in the entire CSU system enrolled in STEM programs (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), behind the other two polytechnic schools Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and Cal Poly Pomona.
