2020 marks the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution giving women the right to vote...it was a struggle of more than 100 years to get the amendment passed....this year we are facing one of the most important elections in our country’s history. REMEMBER TO VOTE on Nov. 3rd...many have fought and died to give you this precious right. HAVE YOU VOTED?

HELP US KEEP THE LIGHTS ON and the rent paid, etc. because of the Covid 19 crisis, our members have voted to cancel our ONLY fund raiser of the year (Our annual August dinner to honor long time outstanding residents of our community) that is the major source of our yearly revenue, so we are asking YOU TO HELP. IF you can send us a contribution towards rent, services, etc. we would be most grateful. No donation is too small. Address your contribution to: Hughson Historical Society PO BOX 605. HUGHSON, CA. 95326 THANKS

Thank you Doris and George Tavernas for the new window display honoring part of Hughson’s heritage from the past. In the 1950’s Hughson was heralded as The Peach Capitol of the World. Since then peaches have declined in production replaced by almonds and walnuts...so now Hughson is truly a little nutty. Next monthly meeting is July 7th
Every year your Hughson Historical Society offers two scholarships of $500 each to members of the graduating class of HUHS. This year the winners of the scholarships were: NANCIE GARCIA and BRIAN HILL. They received their honors with their classmates in an online honors assembly earlier in May. We wish them good luck in their studies ahead
Your Hughson Historical Society salutes all the men and women that have served in our armed forces...remember to fly your flag for them
BECAUSE OF CORONA VIRUS CONSIDERATIONS....NO MONTHLY MEETING on JUNE 2nd. We hope to meet next on July 7th. We will hold an Executive Board meeting this month and will relate more news to you later on. STAY SAFE and CORONA FREE!
NO MONTHLY MEETING on TUESDAY MAY 5th. Due to the shelter in place directive from our Gov. Newsom, our museum will not be open to the public. Our next monthly meeting will hopefully be on TUESDAY JUNE 9th. Stay healthy and be safe!
