The four agencies who are part of Housing for Health Orange County share a focus on expanding supportive and affordable housing, and are committed to approaches that are proven to work. American Family Housing, Friendship Shelter, Jamboree Housing, and Mercy House came together to partner and find supportive housing solutions to hundreds of OC’s chronic homeless. Our goal in the first year is to successfully transition 200 chronically homeless, disabled people out of homelessness in Orange County, using evidence-based practices to support their stability in permanent housing. Housing for Health OC has partnered with United Way of Orange County's WELCOME HOMEOC program to house individuals coming from OC's Project Roomkey and qualify for permanent supportive housing. Our partnership provides the opportunity to provide a housing unit and supportive services for dozens of chronically homeless who would otherwise relocate back to a temporary shelter or the street. #housing #health #Homelessness #COVID19 #partnerships #orangecounty

A collaborative consisting of four non-profit housing and services provider that together make up the permanent housing (PSH) pipeline in the County of Orange. American Family Housing, Mercy House, Jamboree Housing, and Friendship Shelter make up in this endeavor. Collectively the four non-profits represent 90 percent of the PSH stock in ...OC, and have hundreds of new units planned for. What is the goal of Housing for Health OC? Provide supportive housing and opportunities and services to the County’s most vulnerable. Bring together housing and supportive services partners in the County of Orange to advocate for sustainable funding on the local, state, and federal level. Serve as a model for other housing and services provider who are looking to collaborate and utilize county and state resources to house more people in a timely manner. What does Housing for Health OC provide? Navigation services-Connect with clients to find housing. Sustainability services-Case management, life skills support, community connections. Scattered Site PSH Housing-Establish connections with local landlords who have units that can supplement PSH developments, reducing barriers to access through in-home support services. This is largely supported through a partnership with United Way Orange County's Welcome HOMEOC program. PSH Pipeline-Planning and development of new PSH units that will contribute to the 1,000 new units identified by the County of Orange. See more
