Hey guys. I've decided to write my "Hot Mama" book on fit moms which will be addressing everything a fit mom needs to know before, during, and after pregnancy. If you have any questions or issues you would find helpful, educational, or inspirational, your input is greatly appreciated. I'm working on the outline. (Excited!)

Very proud that Mink and I have managed to raise our son's iron levels through food rather than the iron supplement that was prescribed. It took some learning as well as planning but it worked. Now, we are working on some instructional videos for those of you who want to learn to make natural nutrient dense baby food for your little one. Start them off right and they won't have to break the bad nutritional habits that many adults struggle with.

Living life with no excuses! After all that I have been through giving birth to my beautiful son, I am motivated more than ever in my workouts. Nothing I do during a workout even compares to what I went through with labor and having a c-section. Being a mother has made my fight stronger! I now see how with womanhood, and motherhood, comes so much power. Be encouraged moms! I dont care if you are still working off baby weight and your child is 10! You can do it. Just start NOW.

"Walking Through Your Insecurities" This week’s challenge is called "Walking through Your Insecurities." Walking is one of the best forms of physical activity for many reasons. Superficially, it’s great because its low impact and everyone can do it but walking can go so much deeper. Paying attention to the way you walk can tell you so much about yourself. Body language can be an unconscious tell tell sign of what we are feeling. If you are shy, you may walk with your head ...down. If you are anxious, you may hunch or tense your shoulders. Though it may be unconscious, our feelings can be a big contributing factor in the shape our bodies take on. Just by scrutinizing my walk, I have been able to discover AND correct many physical imbalances in my body. For instance, being the shy perfectionist that I am, I spent most of the time in an anxious, tense state. This caused me to constantly round my shoulders (manifestation of being shy) and tensely shrug them up (manifestation of feeling anxious.) This made my traps well developed without even working them out. When I began lifting weights in that same position, I started to see that they were developing even more and I definitely wasn’t going for that manly look. So, I started watching myself in the mirror as I lifted. I would make sure my shoulders were back and down (but still relaxed) on each rep that I completed. I figured that I might as well work out in the position I wanted my body to stay in....and it did just that. Not only was I walking with correct posture but I also felt more confident and relaxed. I even noticed that the chronic upper back pain I had been experiencing for years was going away! Since then, I have discovered many other imbalances in my body including my feet, knees, and hips. I am currently working on fixing the imbalance (caused by a big feet insecurity) in my feet which is in turn causing a more shapely rear! So here is your challenge. Take time to talk this week. Really tune into your body and figure out what you are doing. Are you walking with your head forward, your feet turned out (this will make your butt look flat!), or using only part of your feet? Is there a psychological reason why? Let us know what you have discovered about yourself and I will give you techniques to help you correct these imbalances. The more you can fix, the better you will look and feel.

ModernMoms DivasDiapers suggested using www.myfitnesspal.com. Here is my response to this suggestion. "My fitness pal is a great tool to use if are going with the method of counting calories or grams. The reason I like the "abs diet" method so much is that you don't have to count anything. But, counting calories and grams will work too. I did that successfully for years. BUT, there is more than one way to skin a cat. Thats why I want people to educate themselves and chose which way will work best for them and their lifestyle. If you DO use this method, be sure to learn why they are telling you to eat specfic amounts of nutrients rather than just blindly following the plan they give you "

t Job Sonya Liggett for starting to read the "Abs Diet". Here is what she said, "Right now I am still reading where he breaks down about the myths of dieting and exercise. I have not reached the point of learning about the Power Foods or the Exercise Regimen yet... So far, I am loving what is being said. It is definitely a good read and education."
