Small business owners, independent contractors, non-profits: The Small Business Administration released additional guidance and the application for the second round of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). The PPP offers federally backed loans that are forgiven if used on certain business expenses. If used properly, this is essentially free money for your small business or non-profit.... You may apply through private lenders. If you have a good relationship with your business bank you can see if they are accepting applications. Although the large banks seemed to have significant delays processing applications the last round of loans. Small Business Owners & Non-Profits: SBA started approving PPP loans (forgivable loans to cover 8 weeks of payroll and owner salary) this morning. Hey Small Business Owner & Non-Profit: EIDL grants are still being distributed, so don’t assume you aren’t getting it if you haven’t received yours yet. For the EIDL grants, the Small Business Administration illegally and unilaterally decided to only award $1K per employee to each applying business. The CARES Act requires the SBA to disburse what the applicant, you, requested, up to $10K. Sole proprietors are getting $1K. ... SBA will run your credit (but your credit score has nothing to do with disbursement of this money) three days before you receive your grant in your bank account. The funding under the PPP, the forgivable loans, has been exhausted, but banks are still processing and distributing loans so if you’ve applied, your bank may have set aside your loan money until your application is processed. On Tuesday, the Senate passed a fourth stimulus bill with the House expected to vote on it tomorrow (April 23) and the President expected to sign it by the end of the week. The stimulus bill includes the following for small businesses: - $320 billion more for the Paycheck Protection Program (forgivable loans) - $50 billion more for EIDL loans - $10 billion more for business grants under the EIDL loans (grants that are not repaid back to the government) Apply for these programs now, if you haven't done it yet, to save your place in line when the new funding is made available.

The brand new CARES Act signed into law on March 27, 2020, is an economic stimulus bill designed to give businesses the money they need to pay for certain expenses now. Among all the changes to SBA loans, these two may be the most important: GRANTS: You may be able to receive a $10k grant for certain business expenses, that DOES NOT HAVE TO BE REPAID. This is through changes made to the Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program (EIDL). The EIDL also processes loans you may use for certain business expenses. There is a limited amount of money for these grants so APPLY NOW before funding runs out. Apply for each incorporated business you own and for yourself if you operate as a sole proprietor. Apply if you own rental property. Make sure to check the box on the application that you would like to be considered for the $10K advance. It only takes 15-20 minutes and is relatively easy.
