Hope Coming Ministries 16.11.2020

Now is the time! Years have culminated into transforming Hope Coming into what it was meant to be for our community. Offering counseling to people in a way that helps them move through things in life that have left them feeling stuck, lost or hurting. We have helped people struggling in relationships and marriages as well as helped individuals with addictions, anxiety, depression, parental struggles, homelessness, divorce and more. We are creating a safe, comfortable environ...ment to talk about the difficult things that other therapists will charge large co-pays and limit care to whatever an insurance company dictates you need. Hope Coming has been crafted for you and me, a place in the community to get top level care regardless of your resources. As a result of meeting the needs of the less fortunate in our community we are asking for our communities help in supporting our efforts. Click the DONATE button and choose if you want to support Hope Coming with a small monthly gift or make a one time gift of your choice. This is where healthy people, families, schools, churches and communities begin...ONE PERSON AT A TIME. See more

Were you sensitive to the small voice today; quietly calling you to lose the constructs this world has so effectively helped you build around your persona? As I look at all the pictures of kids posted in the past week marking their journey into a new grade, another step toward becoming independent, I wonder... Are we willing to listen to the voice of Jesus as he uses our kids to speak truths about our fear and shortcomings?

Here I sit on our final day of our mountain vacation. It's early and the air is filled with wonder, I can hear so many creative ways we were meant to be spoken to. The rap of the woodpecker on the nearby pine, the majestic howling of a wolf echoing through the mountain pass from the tiny zoo below me. Then suddenly the wind sweeps through the mountainside pines; the unmistakable aroma of the surrounding evergreens fills the air with the symphony of this glorious, quiet, tranq...uil gift. As nature speaks and I enjoy the chorus, the inevitable creeping of life's pressures seep into my meditation. Yet the end of another time away with my wife and kids, where I realized the laughter and loud footsteps of young kids is a fleeting, sweet sound that drifts like smoke and I am powerless to stop it. The obligations of a mortgage and bills taunt me after an expensive trip. The impending busyness that the coming school year brings that steals away moments of rest. These things and many more press in, then in a moment is is all washed away by the sight of the lone bird perched in the nearby tree, suddenly I am reminded that Jesus knows that little creature, and even more...cares about it. That bird knows not how to pray or even considers were it came from. That little bird knows but one thing, how to be itself. It was given wings to fly and it uses its voice like a song in the crisp air. No matter what trials are brought to that little creature today it will use all its energy for one purpose...TO BE ITSELF. Then I sit here and ponder my ability to do vastly more than this little bird. Yet in the end I consider the wisdom of the bird to do the one thing it knows this day and every other...it knows who it is. It does not go and watch the eagle build a bigger nest so that it can return and build a more grand nest to out do the neighbor. It does not look at the squirrel gathering nuts then hop down to the ground and begin running here and there to gather food. This beautiful bird knows only how to be itself, to use this day as seedbed for tomorrow. Ironically this is what the bird and I have in common as I too possess, to be only what I am made to be, nothing more, nothing less. I do possess the ability to lose my identity in the whirlwind of what the world tells me I should or could be, as well as not leaning into who it is I AM created to be. This is my moment to plant seeds in the hearts of those that are still fast asleep, trusting that in the proper season the creator will have those sees sprout. Thank you little bird for simply being yourself this morning.

After joining Hope Coming late 2015 then relaunching the ministry in April 2016 after finishing school, I have discovered how different and difficult it is to find support for a non-profit. The truth is I probably should have started here but Facebook scares me...maybe I need social media counseling? What I do know is for me that there is no better way I could be meeting the worlds deep need than helping people in places they feel stuck in life. WE DON'T have a church affilia...tion, HCM operates as a stand alone non-profit helping people with addiction, grief, relationships and more meeting with both youth and adults. I have started realizing how much I am missing by not being a part of the FB community. I looked through pictures and posts from people I haven't seen for years and I ask your forgiveness for being so absent.
