Homies Empowerment Program/Adelante 26.01.2021

We were humbling redistributing $40,000 (now $80k) to our community to help with bills. We didn’t know that we would have 1733 applications. If we fund every request that’s only $23( now $46) per family. Can you please help us grow the amount we give? It’s for the It Takes A Barrio Covid Relief Fund. We are going through every application in the next 2 weeks. You can now donate easily here at flipcause! Bless you all! #ItTakesABarrio https://www.flipcause.com/hosted_/hostedWidgetHome/MTA2Njk4

Today at 12pm in The Town There will be two peace walks, this is one of them. Roll deep as we celebrate and stand up for Oakland! There is a lot about Oakland that we love and that we celebrate, and there is a lot about Oakland worth standing up for which is the continual struggle for justice amidst multiple forms of violence.

We at Homies Empowerment are trying to clean our barrio in East Oakland on a weekly basis. We are looking for 2-3 trash cans with wheels/dolly, 4-6 trash tongs, and 3 dust pans. Does anyone have any they can spare? We can pick up trash and clean our city but need access to a large dumpster on a weekly basis. Also need strong gloves, good outdoor brooms and trash bags. Any leads? We pay taxes in East Oakland but our streets don’t get the same love so we will do for self, we just need tools and a place to dump the trash without getting charged too.
