Especially after the Camp Fire, I've spent a lot of time working with non-profit affordable housing developers, local governments, private developers and local ...employers to find solutions to our housing crisis. We need to build affordable housing. We need market rate housing. And we need infill development. A key element in this was our work to secure a $22 million grant from the state to widen Bruce Road in Chico. By securing this funding for Bruce Road we have triggered construction of 1,305 single family homes, which includes at least 260 affordable housing units. The project will complete a four-lane route with a center median from Skyway to State Route 32. Construction will begin in 2021. Special shout out to Brendan Ottoboni with the City of Chico for his tremendous efforts on this project!
