Strong Legs & Butts is a 45 minute barre (without the barre) and mat class! Monday morning at 7:30am pst on Zoom, with an option to do the recorded class anytime in the following 48 hours. This is an example of something we might do in the mat portion of class. The movements in this video are teaching hip extension, something that can be applied to functional walking habits. With more functional walking, our butt muscles learn how to work better to stay strong and supportive.... Friday mornings at 10am pst on Zoom! Basically the same class, but with a new name! This class is designed for people with mild-moderate osteoporosis and osteopenia (low bone density), but anyone is welcome to sign up. We will work on training your functional movement patterns, so your body learns to move safely with muscles that work more efficiently. The class will move through a few positions, and we will do our best to accommodate what you need. Recommended props: theraba...nd, but you could alternatively use a pair of nylons or a belt. A note from Vicky: Have I ranted to you about my ergonomic set-up yet?? It’s not perfect because things are ~expensive~ but WOW there is no way that I could be in school full-time if I didn’t buy this kneeling chair. My back got thrown out right before this semester started, prompting me to buy it on Craigslist out of desperation. Never have I EVER felt less pain AFTER sitting for a while until the first time I sat in this chair!! (Not trying time sell you anything I’m just ...amazed and in love) What’s your ergonomic set up like ?? What works for you? Next up for me is finding a keyboard and mouse combo that are nicer on my wrists, and maybe a more elevated laptop riser. If you have a favorite affordable keyboard and mouse option you swear by, let me KNOW I’m interested!
