In 1999, we broke ground on our third project on behalf of the Children's Receiving Home of Sacramento. Little did we know that the project would lead to several collaborations with this wonderful organization over the next couple of decades! #homeaidimpact #homelessnessawareness #HomeAidSac25

Its Friday, so let's flash back to some of our supporters from 1998...many of whom continue to support our work to this very day! We wouldn't be celebrating 25 years in operation without them and so many more individuals and companies! #homeaid #homeaidimpact #homelessnessawareness

HomeAid is always humbled at the generosity of our supporters, including Mollie and Emily, two students from Eich Middle School in Roseville. Mollie and Emily chose HomeAid Sacramento as their Community Service Project after noticing an increase in the number of homeless people during the pandemic and decided they wanted to make a difference. In addition to collecting donated items, the students will create a presentation on their Community Service Project, discussing what ...they did, how they did it, and the impact of it, which was no small feat! In all, they collected socks, underwear, feminine products, diapers, and dental hygiene goods with an approximate value of $2,300. From there, HomeAid Sacramento distributed the collected items to two of our CARES partners: Maryhouse and WIND Youth Services. We estimate that these items will serve approximately 1,000 young adults, women, and children. Please read below to find out more about our partners: Maryhouse (http://www.sacfishes.org/programs/maryhouse): Maryhouse is a daytime hospitality shelter for homeless women and children. We provide personal attention to each woman to help her identify and take the next step. Women come to us in crisis; some receive short-term help while others might require help for a longer period of time. With your help, each year, we're able to serve over 3,300 women, children, and families every year. Mothers suddenly faced with homelessness are often young, without family support of any kind, and often dealing with issues of domestic violence, mental illness, evictions and substance abuse. Maryhouse is often considered a place for starting over. We strive daily to create a safe, warm and comforting environment, just like a home should be. WIND Youth Services (https://www.windyouth.org/): We provide a safe, non-judgmental space for homeless and runaway youth away from the dangers of the street. At our drop-in center, we provide access to shelter; warm meals; peer support; California IDs & birth certificates; laundry services; employment assistance; educational assistance; case management services; crisis intervention; drop-in counseling; and mental health respite. Thank you Mollie and Emily for making a remarkable #homeaidimpact!
