Mr Tino Martinez passed away July 8, 2020. He and his wife, Maria, were active parents while their 5 children attended Holy Family school. He was a familiar face at the church annual fiestas. Please pray for the Martinez family, he will be dearly missed by all. Funeral Mass:... https://youtu.be/Ylnejci3Fa0 Burial: https://youtu.be/K3aIdDPtxPE From his daughter Monica: On July 8th, I lost my Dad, Tino T. Martinez. He died a beautiful and peaceful death surrounded by all of us. No pain and was only in bed two days. Just how he wanted to go. It was just 4 weeks from his diagnosis of lung cancer. That's why we are kind of shell shocked. We are grateful to have had him healthy, spry and witty until the end of his 95 yrs of age. Every day a gift since both he and my mom lost their parents so young. He served as a staff Sgt. of K Company, 385th Division, 76th Infantry in the United States Army during World War II. Tino participated in the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal as recognition of his heroic achievement during combat. Later, he served in the U.S Navy during the Korean War on the USS Chemung. We never knew he was a war hero until my late brother-in-law, Eric Reiner, was in the Army and was able to get the stories and medals from my dad. This sweet, humble, brilliant and quiet man never let on how outstanding and courageous he was during WWII. For us children and grandchildren he was all that and more. He made each of us feel so loved and special and was our personal cheerleader. He will be greatly missed but always in our hearts.
