"The Word of Life" is our message title as we look at 1 John 1:1 on this first Sunday after Easter.
Mission stories are the greatest stories What stories are happening in your midst??

He is Risen. He makes "All Things New!"
Prayer Almighty God and Father, through your only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ, you have overcome death and opened the gate of everlasting life. Grant that we who celebrate with joy the day of our Lord’s resurrection may be raised from the death of sin by your life-giving Spirit; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen
Prayer Lord God, heavenly Father, send forth Your Son to lead home His bride, the Church, that with all the company of the redeemed we may finally enter into His eternal wedding feast. By Your Holy Spirit, enable us to live our lives thoughtfully and carefully, that we may diligently walk in Your way, live by Your truth, and boldly confess Your saving truth; through the same Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen

"Our trials are enormous in these extraordinary days. The devastating consequences of sin and the brokenness of creation are everywhere. The members of Christ’s Body, His church, are never immune to such afflictions." #LutheransEngage https://engage.lcms.org/living-in-faith-fall-2020/
We have grown up thinking the belief system is more important than living the faith. We tend to live our lives and share our faith. What if we started living our faith and sharing our lives? - Robin Dugall And the start of a new week seems like a great time to start!

Prayer Almighty and everlasting God, You knit Your faithful people of all times and places into one holy communion, the mystical body of Your Son Jesus Christ. Grant us so to follow Your blessed saints in all virtuous and godly living that, together with them, we come to the unspeakable joys You have prepared for those who love You; through the same Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen
Congratulations to the students who confirmed their faith this past weekend. We pray that God continues to bless them and walk with them in their life of faith in high school and beyond. Music performed by Good Tidings from Holy Cross. The group includes Nick Miller, Emily Ramey, Grace Ramey, Mark Reynolds, and Chris Reynolds.
Holy Cross is collecting leftover Halloween candy which will be donated to the Hope Senior Services Center as part of the Holy Cross’ NOW program this Christmas. Candy can be dropped off and put in the orange tub in the Narthex.
Volunteers are needed to decorate the outside of the church for Christmas on Saturday, November 28, at 10:00 AM. We will be decorating the gazebo and around the front walkway, hanging wreaths and garlands ,decorating the tree in the narthex and putting our Nativity up on the roof facing the street. Please come by when you can. Please wear your face masks and we’ll get it all done quickly. It’s fun and it really gets you in the spirit for the Advent of our Lord. Youth are welcome to help! Contact Kathy Spenhoff through the church office at 408-356-3525.
