This is a perennial favorite at the bookstore for Advent. Children remove a figure each day from the numbered pockets and create the crèche scene which is complete by Christmas Day. Call to reserve one, as supplies are limited.

This Friday afternoon November 20 and Saturday morning November 21, City Of Angels jewelry trunk show will take place. I know it’s not yet Halloween, but we have had customer inquiries about Christmas cards. We have now put out our beautiful Caspari religious cards and as has been our practice in the last few years, they are 15% off until Christmas. Come early for the best selection.

This is a Della Robbia image I have never seen in the 20 years that the store has been open. What a beautiful gift for a brand new mom! It is 6 in diameter and the price is $150.

These annual publications arrived about a month early this year. The price $4.50, is the same as last year. These missals cover the entire liturgical year beginning with the first Sunday of Advent Call to reserve copies.

This book has a starred review in Booklistand was listed as an invaluable work about Latinas, faith, and community. God calls Latinas to lives of influence. Several years ago we carried a beautiful line of jewelry from Michal Golan. She is an Israeli born artist who now lives in New York. Her beautiful cross jewelry creations were very popular in the bookstore and I’ve decided to bring them back. Michal’s jewelry is definitely influenced by the Byzantine art that she studied for many years. The best part of her jewelry is that is all Made in the USA.

We have found a way to do a trunk show for City Of Angels jewelry, even during these challenging times. Seen here are just two of the beautiful pieces we currently have in the store for sale. One is sterling silver set with diamonds the other is a beautiful marcasite Madonna with stars around her head. But back to the trunk show, it will take place on November 20 and 21st. Meg will be setting up her beautiful jewelry in the brides’ room adjacent to the bookstore. She will see people by appointment only. Believe it or not, this is a reproduction of an 18 inch Della Robia made of resin. Not ceramic and not made in Italy, it can still be used in a shaded area outside with proper treatment.
