As we get closer and closer to the new year, it is time to start thinking about your 2016 Tax Returns. The IRS has had a few changes this year: 1) The IRS will start accepting returns on January 23rd. 2) For those people that claim the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Additional Child Tax Credit, the new law requires the IRS to wait on issuing refunds for those returns until February 15th.... The IRS will not issue a partial refund, but will hold the entire refund until February 15th, as an additional measure to ensure taxpayers receive the refund they are due. There is a wonderful tool the IRS gives people to check the status of their refunds. California has one too. It's a simple Google search of where is my refund and you'll get the correct site. Or, you could follow this link: irs.gov/refunds There is only 12 days until returns are due! Call or email with any questions you might have!
