Thanksgiving fire facts Thanksgiving is the peak day for home cooking fires, followed by Christmas Day, the day before Thanksgiving, Easter, and Christmas Eve. Unattended cooking was by far the leading contributing factor in cooking fires and fire deaths. Our firefighters have had a challenging year with unprecedented fire behavior, arsons, strike team deployments, and still we ask them to do more. Our firefighters response to that ask is, ... Bring it! Hollister Fire and San Benito county sheriff's representatives attend the Cooperators meetings at the #csulightningcomplex fires.

Hollister Fire Department 23.05.2020

Good Morning San Benito!!! Captain Taylor just attended the morning briefing and is now at the Cooperators Meeting in Alameda County. We want you to stay ale...rt, prepared and vigilant. There have been many questions in our county as to the status of evacuation warnings and orders. Currently our county has NO WARNINGS and NO ORDERS for evacuation. Having said that, this can change at any moment. Residents in northeastern San Benito County would be affected first by this fire based on its path. However, there are NO immediate threats to our county at this time. Continue to follow CAL FIRE and the #SCULightningComplex fire for the most accurate and up to date information. We will update again after the 3pm meeting. That is when we will have a better grasp on the weather system arriving. Thank you all for your attention detail and concern for your fellow man. Rest assured your San Benito County Sheriff’s Office has you covered.
