It's been hard for me to post anything lately feeling I need to address the recent closure while mentally trying to deal with what we are experiencing. Being ordered to close a third time has me in my feelings. This year has been mentally challenging. It's hard I have a lot of mixed feelings about it all, but I feel I need to do what's right for me. I understand that this is all new and we're making it up as we go, but to me it makes no since to allow super stores and malls t...o stay open while closing small businesses while offering them no help. We closed the first time in good faith that we would stop the spread and that us small businesses would get financial help.. We didn't. We were then asked to close a second time, again with no help, forcing a lot of us to work underground in garages, backyards, or even our homes, putting our families at risk. Now we've been asked to close our businesses again while malls, Target, Home Depot and other corporate stores continue to stay open. I'm offended that our governor believes these stores to be safer than my business. I'm choosing to stay open because my guests are in my chair the entire time. I make sure they keep their masks on and are not running around touching everything, and then I sanitize my entire area after client. We keep track of everyone who enters, take temperatures and constantly sanitize. Plus I'm state licensed and have 2 years of training in sanitation and contagious disease control like Hepatitis, AIDS and Influenza. Does that mall employee do any of that?? See more

Red lights... tis the season

'Ar o g to t th ork?' I have to ask my clients this question whenever they're thinking about making dramatic changes to their hair color. Whether going lighter or darker than your natural hair, there is maintenance involved in making the switch. If you're going lighter,... are you willing to invest in the maintenance appointments and take home products to keep up the look? If you're going going darker, are you willing to come in more frequently to cover your regrowth?? I think it's so important to rock the hair that makes us feel more ourselves and confident! But it's also important to think about the commitment to our hair so that we can have hair that rocks all the time! So if you're thinking about a big change let's chat! I'd love to come up with a color or style that you'll love and a maintenance plan that works for you.

You've never worked unless you've worked as a hairdresser in DECEMBER. It's true, it can get a little crazy in the salon during the holidays, but I'm so thankful for my job. This year has shown me how appreciative I am to be able to do my job and serve my clients. ... What has this year shown you about your job or life? I'd love to hear! Happy Thanksgiving!! During these crazy times I've continued to feel so grateful and blessed. I'm so lucky to have such wonderful, supportive clients and family. I want to take today to say thank you. I know this year has been so hard on so many. I pray that we make it through this dark time and next year will be the bright light at the end of the tunnel.

This mannequin head whom I'm now calling "Covida" became one of my besties this year after all our time at home together. I was going crazy and couldn't keep away from doing hair. Thankfully, I didn’t have to completely. I might not have been able to do hair in the salon, but I created my own little salon classroom at home... not too bad. In fact, I actually got a lot of practice in during this whole pandemic, so now I'm ready to go! I'm so excited to be back in the salon with people again. So PLEASE help me stay here! Stay safe this holiday weekend and wear a mask! Let's continue to do our part to stop the spread.
