Happy New Year from #Limantourbeach !
Update about the Woodward Fire aftermath. #woodwardfire #wildfire #lightningstrikes
Another jaw-dropping, winter #sunset on #Limantourbeach Wishing everyone a #HappyNewYear!
Winter Solstice sunet on Limantour beach.
Winter is the season for sunsets at #limantourbeach, because it's the only time of year you can actually watch the sun melt into the ocean. The rest of the year you watch it dip down behind the point. I'm trying to entice you to come out and spend a couple days by the beach. Lots of fresh, clean air! We have winter specials going for our entire house rentals. Check out our website for details
Another epic sunset at #limantourbeach this evening You can catch it too, this weekend we are offering a special, $350/night for either the Historic Lodge or Laguna Creek houses!! Hit me up: 415-663-8811 or [email protected]
Believe in the power of travel. Let's keep it going
We are offering a midweek special for stays in our Historic Lodge through January: parties of 4 people or less, Monday-Wednesday nights, 2-night minimum, $350/night, includes all fees (excluding holiday weeks). The ‘Lodge’ includes: 2 bedrooms with king beds, 2 full bathrooms, large living room, large kitchen, dining room, patio with picnic tables and gas grill, lots of outdoor eating and lounging areas. Please call directly for booking and details: 415-663-8811 Also, check out the new painting we put up in one of the bedrooms in the 'Lodge'
Thankful that we are open and able to host people again.
Check out our new KING suites! We've temporarily converted a couple of our small dorms into bedrooms with a king bed and two twin bunk sets, sleeping 6 in each. Both rooms are in our Historic Lodge, available to be booked as an entire house rental on our website right now! All beds are outfitted with #Coyuchi organic linens and #Tempurpedic mattresses.
This map shows all the areas of the Park that are still closed until further notice due to the Woodward fire. The hostel remains closed until this part of the Park is deemed safe and reopened to the public. Also, Sir Francis Drake Blvd., south of Drake's beach is closed due to road construction and unsafe conditions. This means that the lighthouse, Chimney Rock and South beach are not accessible at this time.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! We are so grateful for all the fire crews that have been working so hard on the #WoodwardFire
Happy Birthday Point Reyes National Seashore!
The hostel staff we able to return to the hostel property today. The hostel buildings are fine and our valley intact. So grateful for all the fire crews working on this fire that protected the hostel and so much more! The Park is still closed to the public and we do not yet have a date when the Park or the hostel will reopen, but we will announce it as soon as we do! Thank you all for your support!
Fighting fire with fire! Thank you firefighters! #WoodwardFire The park and the hostel are still closed. Stay tuned for news regarding our re-opening.
Please be aware this Labor Day weekend, that the Park is still closed due to the Woodward fire. All parking lots, beaches and trailheads are closed.
Thank you firefighters!
Here’s a little update. The hostel still remains safe for now. Thanks to the firefighters for holding the line in the west side of the fire! #WoodwardFire
This morning’s update. The hostel is still okay at this point.
Most people who live and hike in Point Reyes are most familiar with the area through the trails and camps. It's been hard to orient a sense of the fire without ...those landmarks. I took the fire map from Marin County Fire and overlaid it onto the Point Reyes National Seashore trail map. It is important to remember that the fire map is not an ACTUAL map of the fire. It is some data points collected throughout the day about the fire. From Paul Doherty (GIS for EM Professor): "The perimeter is only generally mapped once a day by a nighttime infrared sensor on a plane and corrected by an expert. Satellite hotspots occur a few times a day but are not precise and are not reviewed / edit by experts." - The pink area is the Woodward fire perimeter as of 8/21/20. - The red area is USA Wildfires v1 current perimeter. - The red dots are MODIS and VIIRS thermal hotspots and fire activity. You can find the WoodwardFire map here: https://marincounty.maps.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html
Thank you super scoopers!
