Hello Hillsdale Family! I hope and pray that all of you are doing well. This past Easter Sunday was one of most exciting and meaningful services that I have ever experienced. It was so wonderful to worship in-person with all of you who were present in the building with us. With the Worship Team back in place and leading the congregation in singing, the worship was fantastic. And the joy of preaching to so many real live people again was personally very satisfying. I knew I m...issed worshiping in-person together, but I did not realize how much until last Sunday. Several people who were present on Sunday have expressed similar feelings to me. I can appreciate more than ever the reason for the Biblical command to "not forsake the assembling of yourselves together." I hope that in the coming weeks and months all our church family will be able to join us for in-person worship. This Sunday I am starting a new message series through Paul's letter to the Colossians. I encourage you to read the first half of Chapter 1 of this letter before Sunday to help you prepare to receive God's message to us from this marvelous letter. Join us Easter, April 4, 2021 for in-person worship @ Hillsdale THE PATH TO THE CROSS Part 1: JESUS IS THE ONE WHO IS ETERNAL LIFE 1 We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life. 2 This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that He is the one who is eternal life. ... He was with the Father and then He was revealed to us. 3 We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. 4 We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy. 1 John 1:1-4 (NLT) __________________________________________________________________________ EYE WITNESS TESTIMONY The early followers of Jesus were first known as, Followers of The Way. These earlier followers were astonished as they began to discover who this Jesus is. Jesus said, I am the way, and the truth, and the life. John 14:6 Jesus also said, And this is the way to have eternal lifeto know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth. John 17:3 As His ministry grew He transformed the lives of many. Lives that were once deeply seeded in religious tradition and lawful adherence. Jesus' teachings led His followers down a different path of living and their attitudes, actions and beliefs began to resemble the one they were following. These followers were eye witnesses to Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, the one who brings life in it's fullest and the source for real purpose and fulfillment meant for all people. __________________________________________________________________________ PURPOSEFUL PRAYER What a wonderful acclimation, Lord Jesus. You are one who existed from the beginning, from eternity, before the world existed. You are the WORD OF LIFE, the Christ, the son of the living Godwho is the ETERNAL LIFE given to us and the source of forever life with You. A life that is more than mere existence and lasts forever. Jesus, you were REVEALED from the Father as having the same essence and nature as God in human flesh. The scripture gives eye witness testimony that You lived with them, walked with them and they saw the Glory of God the Father in You. You were real and they saw You and heard Your message and now share that same message to us through your word, that we may have fellowship and share joy together with You. Now we can partner together and share the same benefits as the Children of God, with the Father and Jesus Christ, that our joy may be overflowing - Amen. Hello, Hillsdale Family! I pray that this personal note finds you doing well and staying healthy. I want to say a big, "Thank You", to all of you for making the celebration of our 20th Anniversary with the church very special. Debbie and I were touched at your thoughtfulness. It was nice to see you "faces" even if they were only photographs. It reminded me of how much I miss seeing everyone in person. We also wanted to thank you for the beautiful Jade plant and the very gen...erous financial gift. You are a wonderful church family and we're so glad to have the privilege of serving the Lord together with you all these years. I hope that you've been enjoying the messages from the book of Romans.
