David Graybill knew he would be an artist from age 12. Drawing, sculpture and photography were his main interests. After a successful foray into stained glass, he became a stainless steel welder/fabricator and, in a few short years, was constructing state-of-the-art industrial machinery. He loved the work but wanted to be more than a ‘tech’ and went back to school to study electronics and computer science. David spent the next 20 years managing networks before retiring and le...aving the corporate world to fend for itself. He opened a studio in 2015 and began producing sculptures inspired by his years in manufacturing and admiration for the techs and engineers he worked with. They saw themselves as ‘technical artists’ and drove themselves to create the finest, most reliable, most technically perfect piecespieces of artthat just happened to do something useful. He wants his sculptures to capture the engineer’s desire to go beyond ‘form follows function’ and honor the grace and confidence woven into their designs that gives a machine a human soul. David’s sculptures are true conversation pieces that draw the eye in any room. Come see for yourself! We’re open Thursday through Sunday, 11 - 3.

Michael Chavez is a new and exciting artist at High Hand! In his own words: I’ve been an artist my entire life! Painting, drawing, digital illustration, photography, ceramics, and stained glass. I could never decide what to do, always working and studying nature and health. After I left my business management career, I got back into the arts because of my health journey. After learning acrylic pouring, and using my photography, digital editing skills, and illustration I ...found a process of creating my very own art form. Psychedelic mixed media conceptual art integrating our inner awareness with my connection with nature and spirituality. Visit High Hand to experience Michael’s kaleidoscopic and mind-bending visual offerings! Thursday through Sunday, 11 - 3.
