https://a.co/0BZB6IP Hello and Good Morning to our awesome friends and supporters . we have started a list of supplies we could definitely use for the upcoming kitten season. Any and all help is sooo appreciated!!! In addition to this list we are fortunate to be able to get discounted prices at Wine Country Pet Boutique & Spa with Wendy in Middletown. so if you chose to shop local and put funds on our account she is able to print out a tax deductible receipt with the rescues information. Thank you so much . We have also added a donation button if you would like us to do the shopping.
Sprout is 5 weeks old today and he actually decided to try his Tiki kitten Velvet Mouse . He ate quite a bit. It might be time to see if he has s ready for a water dish. He does really love his bottle still .
Our little Sprout got upgraded digs this morning. His playpen doubled in size and got new to him additions. He still has his heat pad and stuffed momma kitty with a heartbeat, but chose the donut bed to crash in . Sprout was brought to the vet yesterday to get tested for feline leukemia and thank goodness the test was negative. The vet tech is thinking that we lost his siblings to something called fading kitten syndrome. A possible diagnosis doesn’t make it hurt less. So far Sprout is staying strong .
Edit: I just got off the phone with UCDavis ( neonatal kitten specialists) and even they are not taking in new patients for Rescue still from the pandemic . We lost our Tulip at 2:00 am on Thursday morning. Sprout has never shown the odd symptoms of his siblings of fever/low body temperatures. I was tube feeding Tulip since Saturday hoping to get her through it but I lost her . My heart is hurting sooo much. Since her passing my husband , kids, and I spend even more time with Sprout. Please don’t tell me what I could have done differently, I did my best for what is available in our area and my heart is soo broken right now. ~ Billie Jo
UPDATE: The Comedians litter @Dena's house The hardest thing to do?...nope, its not bathing cats! Its taking pictures of kittens I thought I would give Mama Harper a break and help her clean the kids. After the kittens were all clean and fluffy I "thought" (key word) I would take pictures. The group of comedians thought otherwise (Jeff, Dom, Larry, Lucille and Lilly)... Even the once feral mama Harper (who would try to eat anyone coming near her babies) got a bath. I think she actually enjoyed it What mom doesn't deserve a spa day? Mama Harper has turned into an extremely loving and affectionate cat. She is young, and this is most likely her first litter. She will be available for adoption along with her 5 babies as soon as they are weaned. I will try again for better pictures
Our little Tulip started not waiting to get help going pea yesterday. She also is learning how to run before walk . Tulip and Sprout are 3 and a half weeks old and not ready to litter box train yet but being little grasshopper Tulip is not waiting . It’s time to introduce the litter box. I personally set the orphan kitten in the box and wipe their bottom till they pee. It helps them get used to the litter box.
Sprout is making biscuits under his heartbeat momma stuffy .
