I remember when stressful days used to derail me. I’d be doing great, then all of a sudden I’d have a stressful day and all my healthy habits would go out the door. Even worse, I’d end up feeling like I had to start ALL over again! I realized I had to control stress before it controlled me which is why I pieced together my very own stress management routine.... This doesn’t mean I don’t GET stressed. But it means I’m ready for it when it happens (most of the time!). Here’s how I manage stress: -Working out -Spending time outside/in nature -Hiking -Surfing -Meditation -Make time for fun! OR maybe chopping wood like @emckenna1986! Let’s talk about hitting plateaus on your way to results. They can be SO frustrating! The good news is that there are specific steps you can take to keep them at bay.... When I’m working toward a goal, here’s what I personally do to keep my results coming and my motivation high: Work on Mindset: listen to podcasts, audiobooks for inspiration, set positive affirmations daily. Seek out Resources: work with a coach, streamline my routines and workouts. Take Action: set smaller, attainable goals to work towards the main goal. Track your workouts in Wodify: knowing the times and the weights that you used each time you work out, can keep you on track to push yourself to get better every single time. GOT STRESS? We all know too much stress is bad for us, right? So we do all the things to help prevent it we get enough sleep, don’t overschedule ourselves, exercise, eat right, do breathing exercises, etc. etc. etc.... And even so, sometimes we find ourselves smack in the middle of a stress overload! Especially this time of year, with all the extra activities and worries about meeting expectations. I’ve got a quick fix for you that doesn’t involve meditating Here it is GO FOR A WALK (OR RUN) or even a lifting sesh OUTSIDE. Even 5 to 10 minutes can make a real difference. It has been a stress cure for centuries! (Because it works.) I took a walk in nature and came out taller than the trees, Henry David Thoreau. You don’t have to walk in the trees to get the benefits. You can do it pretty much anywhere. And if you can’t go for an actual walk just go outside and sit for a few minutes. Here are a few reasons why this can help cut stress: 1. It removes you from the stressful environment. (SO important!) This helps you naturally shift your energy and perspective. 2. It helps you reconnect with the outside world. Take some time to look around at your surroundings. This can help break the loop of stressful and worried thoughts. 3. It helps you reconnect with your body. Usually, when we’re stressed, it’s because we’re in our heads wrapped up in our thoughts. The act of walking will help your muscles loosen up, getting rid of physical tension. Plus exercise is good for your heart and overall health! I hope you can avoid the extra holiday stress over the coming weeks but if you can’t, try lacing up those walking shoes and getting outside! Make it a nature-filled kind of day,

This time of year we start getting geared up to set goals and soon our New Year Resolutions. ... And that’s great. BUT ... without the right habits to back them up, those goals most likely aren’t going to amount to much. So I want to float this by you: What do YOU currently have on autopilot every day? Things like: - How you start your day - What you eat for lunch - Parking near entrances or far away - Your workouts - Your overall food choices - Your nighttime activities - What time you go to bed and what time you wake up - Reading books or watching TV - Drinking water or soda etc. You get the picture. Now, go through your habits and PINPOINT the ones that are actually helping you to reach your goals and also the ones that need an upgrade. You don’t have to overhaul everything. Just choose ONE to start with. The goal is to upgrade your habits to the level of your goals. That way, when you DO reach those goals, you’re able to maintain them! We don't rise to the level of our goals; we fall to the level of our habits. James Clear
