When it comes to facial rejuvenation some patients are looking for significant changes and some want just a little change. That was the case with this wonderful patient. She desired just subtle changes to the face. She wanted to restore the youthful contours, remove subtle shadows and create a freshened appearance to the face. The eyes are often a place that show the earliest sign of aging changes. Hereditary traits and features play a significant role in the appearance of the eyes. This is particularly true in the lower eyelids. The lower eyelids can display bags and hollows which create shadows and irregularities on the face. Fillers such as #restylane and #juvederm can minimize the deeper depressions and volumes loss but only with surgery can you create a more permanent result. ..This is a... specific area of concern for many men. Women can often hide these features for a while with make-up, but men are much less likely to try this approach. I see a lot of men in my practice looking for correction of these same concerns. Blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery is one of my favorite procedures to perform both because the procedure is delicate and artistic at the same time, but also the recovery is relatively fast and patients can get back to their lives and routine quite quickly. ..In this patient he was concerns with the #eyebags and darkeness and shadows around the eye. I performed a lower eyelid blepharoplasty with a transconjunctival approach. This means there are no incisions on the skin as these are hidden on the inside of the eye. Traditional blepharoplasty techniques where fat is removed can lead to hollowing, to avoid this I perform a fat transfer at the time of surgery. To smooth out the fine wrinkles on the delicate eyelid skin I performed a laser resurfacing with an erbium laser by @sciton. It is important to fully understand the aging process in the eye and address each area separately to fully correct these concerns for a long lasting result. ...He maintained his look and doesn’t look different, but just refreshed.
