Sawyer came to us all the way from the Mendocino county shelter where he was surrendered by his family. He's 2 years old, healthy and sweet. He has ALOT of energy so he needs an active family to keep him busy as well as provide him with structure. He was allowed to rule the roost at his previous home so he developed a little bit of a napoleon complex. Too many people buy these dogs without considering that they need a leader so they don't get themselves into trouble. So far h...e's been great with the adults in his foster home, but we know that he is not good with other dogs, and should not be around small children. This boy has been ultimately failed by humans in his past, so it is our job to make sure he gets the right fit this time around. If you feel that you can provide structure, consistent leadership, and boundaries for this handsome boy, please fill out an application on our website so we can reach out to you. This handsome boy Sawyer (French Bulldog) is coming to us tomorrow. Thank you Dawn for helping transport him. He's about 2 years old, neutered and microchipped and will be updated on vaccines. He may need to be the only dog in your home, but we will evaluate all of that when we get him. Can't wait to get to know him and then find his perfect match.

Jellybean is 6 months old now... Despite her blindness, she is still full of joy and continues to thrive. She loves to play with her foster sisters, her toys and occasionally gets the zoomies! The Neurologist is happy with her current progress and we've had no issues with her health thus far. Next step we will visit the eye Dr and see if anything needs to be done about her eyes even though they do not bother her or cause any immediate issue. As soon as we do that, we will be ...working on getting her spayed. It's a risk putting any dog under anesthesia, let alone a breacheocephalic dog with hydrocephalus. We need to run a blood panel again to make sure the medication she is on is not causing any issues that would prevent her from any surgery and then go from there. Please send positive vibes that we get good news all around so that Jellybean can hopefully move to the next level of her journey with rescue. See more

Mrs. Ginger is ready for adoption! She's a 1 1/2 year old 41lb "exotic bully" (American pit bull tertier). She loves to play in water, and chase a ball although she doesn't understand the idea of fetch . She is good with kids and people but can be a little selective about other dogs. She would do best with a submissive pal in the home if there is another dog in the home. She is happy and sweet and loves attention. Ginger is spayed, microchipped, and current on vaccines. If you are interested in adding this beauty to your family, please submit an application on our website https://www.heertorescue.org/forms/

Welcome Venus to the pack... Shes 8 months old and very pregnant... We think she is a Pomeranian/Chihuahua fusion. The daddy of her babies is a Schipperke/Pomeranian. We anticipate that she will have 5 babies. The babies will all need to be vetted, spayed and neutered... We hope that her last days of pregnancy end with a complication-less delivery and that all of her babies are healthy. Stay tuned for updates along her journey

HOL-E-COW! What an amazing village we have! Thank you SO MUCH to the person who donated all of this amazing stuff to our rescue babies today! She prefers to remain anonymous, but you know who you are! We appreciate these items so very much! Your generosity and thoughtfulness has filled our hearts! As most of you are aware, we operate solely on donations to provide medical care, vetting, food, transport, clean bedding, and enrichment for the pups in our care. These items will be very useful to continue our mission! You rock!
