Day 16 of 21 Day 2021 Fast "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path." Proverbs 3:5-6... God rarely leads us on the path we expect. He does however get us to the planned destination. I’ve learned there are many ways to get to almost any destination. For God the journey is as important as the outcome. Usually the path He leads us on is a journey of trust. To see if we will trust Him no matter what the road looks like. If we will continue to follow or if we will whine and cry and complain or even worse turn back and refuse to go. If we can figure it out on our own it’s not trust nor is it faith. That would be walking by sight and knowledge. "For we walk by faith and not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7 That can be translated we live by faith and not by understanding. It’s about how we conduct our lives. Do we trust God to lead or do we have to understand. There are seasons of blind trust. Like walking with your eyes closed into the darkest night you’ve ever known and all He says is: come. Then there are seasons where He lets us chose and gives no input to see what we’ve learned. Then there are the best of times when He’s so close and has you by the hand to be sure you know He’s got you. Learn to enjoy the journey. He’s already been there and says it’s good. He wants you to look like something when you arrive: Jesus. Prayer: Father God, thank you for your promise that says you will never leave us or forsake us. Thank you for helping us to trust you with our whole heart and not have to always understand. Thank you that the plans you have for our future are good and that there is a destination, an outcome that you have planned. We choose to trust you even though we can’t yet see the outcome of the path we are walking. Give us hope in the midst of the journey and courage to keep following you using faith and not mere sight. In Jesus’ name, Amen. "For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the LORD, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
