HeartLab 10.11.2020

You know that feeling when someone says or does something, and you feel your body jumping out of its skin? You want to attack, or run away, or can't even deal and just stand there unable to react? That's a trigger. That's the (seemingly) outsized reaction we have to someone else's behavior that hijacks us, because of who we are and what we've been through. My wise and practical friend David Sauvage is having a (donation-based) workshop at 5pm (PST) today on how to recognize and work through triggers.

Tomorrow 11am-1:15pm PST is the next Virtual Ecstatic Dance! I'm super excited to have a set by DJ Maya Light, and a live sound healing afterward with Dan Jedynak and his hand pan. Then if you want to stick around, we'll do some sharing, and then hang out for some social time. This event is donation-based with all proceeds this week going to the DJ - details in the invite

People have been asking me for months "When is HeartLab opening? How can I find out what's going on?" Well, it took a while for me to slog through my own emotions (fear fo failure, fear of success) to get there, but I did it. The grand un-opening was next week, and I had a whole bunch of cool events planned. I was SO excited to tell everyone about the events that were happening. Some of them are still happening virtually, and I'll tell you about those first. ... THIS SUNDAY - VIRTUAL T-GROUP Crystallin Dillon teaches an authentic communication modality called "T-group" that originated out of Stanford business school. I did T-group over a year ago, and the lessons it taught me gave me the ability to be compassionately honest, and as a result, improved and deepened all of my relationships. How? Once I started feeling my feelings (thank you, mama ayahuasca), I still didn’t quite know what to do with them. T-group helped me take responsibility for my emotions and the stories in my head. It helped me communicate my stories and emotions in a way that left space for others to communicate theirs. When we talk, we’re communicating what’s going on inside of us in a thousand subtle ways, but often we don’t even know what going on inside of us, or what we’re communicating. T group helps us unearth our own hidden agendas. And when we’re able to communicate without hidden agendas, people trust us more, and want to connect with us more. If you haven't done it yet, check it out. I'd also love to hear other people's experiences of T-group in the comments!

As part of HeartLab's grand un-opening next week, David Sauvage was going to fly out to San Francisco and do a 4-day Empath Pop-Up at HeartLab. That's all still going to happen. But in the meantime, he's doing an online pop-up today, tomorrow and Saturday. David is an amazing holder of space. He has shown me that all my feelings are ok, and valid, and worthy of being heard. It's a powerful lesson that has given me permission to be more myself in this short life.... Here are the deets - you DO need to register, and it's donation-based, pay-what-you-feel-if-you-can-and-if-not-that's-totally-ok. The description: THE IDEA. Right now, more than ever, we need a place to connect with each other, share our feelings and calm down. That’s what this online popup is about. THE INTENTION. On March 19, 20, and 21, we’ll have a chance to process what's going on in the world right now in a safe and loving space online. The intention is for us to come out feeling calmer and more connected than we did coming in. We’ll also learn tools to help us deal with whatever comes next. The gatherings are facilitated by David Sauvage. David is an empath (he feels what others are feeling), a teacher of emotional intelligence and a facilitator of emotional processes for individuals and groups. IS THIS FOR ME? Yes, if you want to connect in an authentic way with people right now. You may be feeling fearful, anxious, disoriented or lonely. You may be freaking the-f-out. You may just be curious to have heartfelt conversations on the Internet.
