HONORING PETIE Today we honor Petie who was nominated by Nancy. Nancy writes: Petie, has not only survived Breast Cancer herself, she has helped her daughter also a survivor through it, and was a great comfort to me during my Mothers battle with Breast Cancer. Sadly my Mother was not a survivor, but lived a wonderful life up until her passing in Nov 2015.

HONORING LISA: Today we honor Lisa who was nominated by her husband David. My wife and mother of our two boys, Lisa, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2011, one month after securing a new job. She is a Group Exercise Director and Instructor. She was also found to be BRCA+, the "breast cancer gene". Despite having to take time off to undergo several surgeries and treatment, she kept her focus on getting well, staying honest and open with her family and friends, and relying ...on God to stay hopeful and happy. The recovery was quite painful. She describes the experience as "having all that made her a woman, being removed"...breasts, ovaries, and thus hormones. Menopause hit her overnight with all it's symptoms. Due to the type of cancer she had, she was not a candidate for hormone replacement therapy and had to manage her health and sudden menopause with her lifestyle. Since then she has pursued more education and a healthy way of eating, exercise and lifestyle - she can do as many pushups now as she did before cancer! She has been cancer free for 4 years now. Her journey has given her a passion to help other women who have had similar struggles, with sickness, menopause, or simply years of being sedentary, by sharing what she knows about health and fitness and offering the tools they need for success so they can get healthy and happy. I love her very much and am happy to nominate Lisa. See more

HONORING SUE: Today we honor Sue who was nominated by Tina. Tina writes: Sue is the most healthy, outgoing, smart person that I have ever met. She is the wonderful wife to my husbands childhood friend. About 15 years ago, Sue was diagnosed with breast cancer. This was when she had 2 toddler children. Not only did she fight this disease, not just once, but twice, she is still the most brave, healthy, outgoing, smart person that I've ever met. She contributes so much time and efforts to her children's high school, even still to this day. Even though her children are now away at college. It's "Sue's" time for once.

HONORING MARIA Today we honor Maria who was nominated by America. America writes: "Maria is a recent breast cancer survivor and good friend of my family. She is a strong and beautiful person with a really big heart who is always willing to help others. Despite her situation she faces life with a smile and determination. She deserves for life to give her something a little back which is why I would like to nominate her, so she knows she's as beautiful on the inside as she is o...n the outside."
