Here’s a fabricated aluminum structure we created and installed on a concrete pad in the Rincon Valley area of Santa Rosa for our friend Ken Lafranchi. These projects are so challenging but very rewarding. Thanks Ken for your continued support... we appreciate it and look forward to the next one!
I’m Thankful for Albert Q. Scott who took me under his wing in 1981 (the year he retired from Scott Signs) and taught me how to be a skilled craftsmen and how to model my business within the principals of honesty and integrity. From Al I learned everything the old school way, long before computers were ever introduced into the sign trade, and for that I am extremely grateful. I am also thankful for my amazing and talented crew of craftsman and office staff, and of course I... am thankful to everyone who has supported Healdsburg Signs for the last 40 years!! That’s right, 40 years on February 1st 2021. On a personal note, I am very thankful for my wife Tami for standing by me through thick and thin for the last 37 and a half years of wedded bliss and who can forget my lovely daughters, sons in law and grand babies!! I am a blessed man! The picture is of Me and Tami in case you’re wondering... Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Ok... so here is the finished hand lettered product. Supposed to look like it’s as old as the door in both style and age (1930’s) how’d I do?? I think I’ll hang it up somewhere in the shop!!
A friend gave me an old truck door (actually 2) and I decided to paint a retro image of what the HEALDSBURG SIGNS logo might have looked like on that door in the 30’s or 40’s... I’m having fun with it. I am going to distress it to look 80 or 90 years old the best I can, then post the finish product when ready... maybe tomorrow!
We just completed this awesome sign for the Farmhouse Inn to replace the sign we did over 10 years ago... the old sign was beautiful but got hit bay a car and limped through the last 2 years. This replacement is beautiful in its simplicity. It's all aluminum with a powder-coated finish and it will last a very long time. BTW if you have never had a meal at the Farmhouse, you should give it a try... it's quite an experience!
Here is a pretty cool sign we installed last week in Andersen Valley. 2 sided rough redwood with a solid stain and 1/4" thick stud mounted (thus the shadow) aluminum letters. This sign will last a very, very long time! Good job Mike and Chris... your craftsmanship is extraordinary!
So I am out driving the other day and ran into some signs we did recently... and I thought I would share. Coppola is awesome fabricated steel letters painted brilliant gold on a rough wood background. Bosworth is carved onto wood (New England style) and Buena Vista is a HUGE sandblasted sign with gold leave and silver copy. We are proud of all these creations... Thanks to a shop full of excellent craftsman and women.
So a while back a young lady friend of mine who has a interest in the sign business and has spent time at my shop learning the trade, partnered with me on some "old style" glass gold leafing. The process is very sensitive and requires a lot of patience... that is where Andrea Hernandez came in. I provided the technical experience and she provided the patience... the results are incredible... So if you want to stand out, let me know and I can do the same with your logo on your business window.
