We have some updates Hello everybody Shout out to Women's History month. I want to celebrate all the powerful women in my life beginning with my mother ,sister ,and the multitude of Women in my life, friends and family. They’re making historic strides day-by-day. So to each of you incredible women out there and especially the women of my clientele I appreciate you, I celebrate you and I am honored to serve you.... I want to remind you that Head Designs is open and we have been open since January 21,2021 .There seems to be some confusion around that. Yes I am open. I am ready for you and I wanted to let you all know that I’ve gotten both my vaccines! So I am feeling healthy well and empowered and looking forward to servicing you. I would love to see everyone get vaccinated so that we can get back to some sense of familiarity back in our lives. The vaccine and being vaccinated helps not only protect you but all of the people that you love and the people that are around You. Even though we’re vaccinated we will still be observing the Covid-19 rules of procedure in the salon. We will continue wearing masks for services Until we get further notice from Alameda County . I am still scheduling one client at a time. This has created a comfortable situation for clients when you're in the salon. you know that is just you and I . I sanitize and disinfect after each client. I am taking only one client at a time and I have extended 30 minute time per each service . Is important to schedule all of the services that you would like to have rendered. I don't have as much flexibility as I’ve had pre Covid -19. It doesn't leave me any room to add on any additional services if it's not scheduled. What I've been doing is scheduling my clients for their next appointment before they leave.. You can always cancel or reschedule an appointment. That's never a problem . I really want to encourage you to schedule ahead of time especially as spring is here and summer fun is approaching. Lastly please consider getting the vaccination. Do your research, say your prayers, do whatever you think you need to do. Our latest news Hello everyone I want to first I want to thank you for all your support throughout this incredible year of 2020 the age of the coronavirus pandemic. I would take this time to offer my heartfelt condolences for all those who have lost love one and been impacted by this virus. I know I have.... I know that everyone is going through their own various challenges, with all the uncertainty of everything that is going on. We do have a brighter future ahead of us as we look toward the possibility of the vaccine. I know that many of you will feel more relieved with the possibility of hope and resolve to where we can get back to our new set of normal. The salon had been closed for 6 months and we opened again September 9th (the day the sun could not be seen due to the smoke) I had a good couple of months just starting to get the going again . As you know we in another mandatory Stay in Place from December 6th thru January 6th. Based on the current official information I know most of your still leery about coming back in in for service and I completely understand that. I am taking one client at a time and sanitizing after each client. To accommodate this new trend my NEW SCHEDULE is Thursday through Sunday Beginning January 20th on Thursday and Fridays will be noon to 7:30 Saturdays and Sunday’s noon until 5:30. We have some updates Hello Everybody It has been 2 months since the salon has re-opened indoors and things are going well. I’ve made some observations. The number one change I’m working on 1 client at a time so there's never anyone else in the salon but me and you. This seems to make everyone feel safe and comfortable. ... What I ask is that you when you arrive stay in your car and text me. I’ll text you back to come in. All services now have an additional 30 minutes added for time to sanitize for the next person I will also be off Thanksgiving Day and Friday. We’re open on September 9th 2020 INDOORS! FULL SERVICE! LOS ANGELES - Gov. Gavin Newsom introduced a new four-tier, color-coded system Friday that will replace California’s monitoring list. Under the new system, all of the state's hair salons and barbershops are permitted to reopen indoors with modifications. ... The system goes into effect after Labor Day weekend as gyms, bars, nail salons, and restaurants for indoor dining will remain closed in the majority fo California through the holiday weekend.

We have some updates Hello everybody Beginning August 28th Alameda County is now allowing salons to re-open outdoors. As you know there are many services that can not be rendered outside, but I'm going to do my best to create an outdoor space that works comfortably for everyone.... In the meantime, I will be doing haircuts only at a Head Designs West which is in my garden space in my home. The only challenge to the garden space is that there's no shampoo facility nor is there a public bathroom facility.I'm actively working on creating an outdoor space at the salon! Due to the limited space in front. Busy street and lack of privacy, I'm trying to create a space on the side behind the gate for privacy. While the opportunity to work outdoors is good given that it has been so long since I've been able to work, the challenge is creating the right space for you to be comfortable, private and not have exposure to cars going by or other environmental factors. With that said I am looking so forward to seeing each of you and getting back to what I love! Servicing you and working with you is one of the things that I have always enjoyed and missed during these unprecedented times of the pandemic. I'm looking forward to getting back to things, but it will never be like it was before. New ways of being can be both good as well as challenging. Please bear with me as I try to navigate through the ever changing guidelines by the various powers that be. As I move forward creating these environments, please share your thoughts . For now the salon space is being planned for outside services and there I'll be able to provide all of the services, i.e.,color, perms, etc. Head Designs WEST (my garden space) is a haircut only environment No plumbing for shampoo. Dear Head Designs community, I’m ready to get back to work! And to your hair and services!! However this will not happen soon if we don’t collectively work together and wear a mask or some type of face coverage. The purpose of this is to curtail the spread of the corona virus amongst our community. I know it frustrating, at times uncomfortable, inconvenient and some feels impedes on their rights and freedom of choice others think it’s some sort of political conspiracy whateve...r it is it has killed a lot of people . The reality is that wearing a mask is one of the easiest and best way to control the spread of new cases of the virus. If wearing a mask will curtail this deadly virus let’s each do our part. I do have a special interest in this as well. The reopening of businesses are being rolled out in Stages (see chart below) We’re in Stage 2 right now. Not Permitted in Stage 2 Personal services such as nail salons and tattoo parlors Community centers, including public pools, playgrounds, and picnic areas Concert venues Live audience sports Festivals Theme parks Higher Education . Personal services(salons) will not reopen until Stage 3. The Alameda county is responsible for making this decision. It’s based on decline and the number of new cases in the county. Right now, Alameda county’s numbers are raising, which means Stage 3 could be delayed even longer PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE wear a mask for your safety, the communities safety and so I can GET BACK TO WORK! As long as the numbers go up the longer, we’ll STAY in Stage 2. The longer it will be for me to see you in the salon. The salons ready for you! Unfortunately, This out of my control. Our county (Alameda)& Oakland has not attested to move into Stage 3 because of the rise of positive cases. Please reschedule when we move into Stage 3. I know this has to be frustrating & disappointing for you. it's as has been indescribably frustrating for me as well to figure out what to do as a business owner in this time of COVID-19.
