Yesterday's Women's Self-Defense Seminar was both educational and physical! Thank you Ladies for your support, participation, and willingness to fight through your tears and fears! Rest up and remember, we all have weapons...in, on or around us, but a weapon is of no use if you don't know how to use it! Yesterday's hike was challenging both mentally and physically but nothing in comparison to those facing Alzheimer's. Each year we hike to honor the strength and courage of these individuals and the amazing men and women who care for them. Last year we were able to bless 50 individuals through our Winter Drive. This year HMA looks forward to being a part of East Oakland Collective's Feed the Hood 3. This Sunday, November 12th at Oakland SOL Middle School located at 1180 70th Ave as we assemble and distribute lunch and hygiene kits to the homeless. If you're not able to be there physically, please consider donating $15 to be used towards the purchase of much needed items for bagged lunches and hygiene kits.
