Fire tip this week is an important one that is often overlooked. In the event of a fire emergency in your home, designate a meeting place. You want a safe place to meet, somewhere close to your home but far enough away to be out of danger. Draw a map of your home and the street outside. Dimensions aren't important, and place that map of the exits of your home and your designated meeting place in every room of your house. With the adrenaline pumping during a fire, having a plan is action cam save lives.
Hayden Fire employees Ryan and Dave spent some time over at the Oroville Fire Department this past weekend for their open house event. As you can see, the kids had a great time learning about fire safety and getting to put out some fires as well. Thank you to the Oroville Fire Department for having us come out, it was a blast!

Before the weekend, a quick fire tip from Hayden Fire Protection. With children being naturally curious about everything in life, naturally they are curious about fire as well. Leaving lighters and matches within reach of children can be a recipe for disaster. However, teaching your children about the dangers of playing with fire could save their life. Teach them, and give them the knowledge to know not to play with lighters and matches, but to give them to an adult and keep everyone safe. Have a safe weekend!
Also, today with all of the fires burning in California, Hayden Fire Protection would like to thank all of the firefighters risking their lives to save the homes of residents in the affected areas. Let's send positive thoughts to them all and hope they return to their families safely.
Today's fire prevention tip from Hayden Fire Protection talks about electrical fires. All too frequently, people overload their outlets by plugging in too many appliances or not being aware of surrounding dangers. Never overload circuits or extension cords. Do not place cords and wires under rugs, over nails or in high traffic areas. Immediately shut off and unplug appliances that sputter, spark or emit an unusual smell. Have them professionally repaired or replaced. With safety precautions like this, you can keep your home or business safe and have a good peace of mind as well.
This goes right along with our tip this morning about smoke detectors.
Hayden Fire Protection fire safety tip for today is an easy one. Smoke detectors as an easy inexpensive way to keep your family safe in the event of a fire. You can purchase them at a any hardware store or discount store such as Wal-Mart or Home Depot. If you have a multi floor home, be sure to install at least one on each level. A working smoke detector doubles your chances of survival if a fire does occur. Make sure to inspect them monthly, keeping them free of dust, and replacing the battery once a year. Happy Monday and stay safe.

Today Hayden Fire Protection paid a visit to a local grower. Starting the day off with a fire training, then ending with their annual fire extinguisher service meant Dave and Karl had an all day adventure. No matter how long it takes, our guys will get the job done. Sure looks like Dave had just as much fun as the employees during the fire training lol!
Today Hayden Fire employee Karl performed a fire training course for one of our local farms. He really does a great job at getting everyone involved! Get a hold of us if you're interested in this exciting course.
