As we prepare to turn our phones off, plop down on the couch, and live the PJ life for a couple of days, we want to recognize the community love that has been all-enveloping during the last few days. We’re thankful to have it swirling around us and want to reiterate that we’re here should anyone need a virtual shoulder. . We were dealt an unbelievable loss yesterday. And we’re not alone. Paso Robles and beyond will feel the shock waves of T’s sudden absence for years to come. She was our cheerleader and even when she didn’t feel like it, rallied to inject energy into all of us who were present for her shifts. She’s everywhere in The Hatch and her artwork will live with us into the future. T could talk to anyone and make them feel good about themselves. She was always the first to start a fundr...aiser, give freely, or pass around a card when someone was down on their luck or had an occasion to mark. She loved her friends hard and we are so thankful that we got to call her one. . Those of us who know her fun wild side also know that she was an old soul. She could use the word whippersnapper like it was normal and often joked that she kept Werther’s Originals in the pockets of her sweaters. We’ve never seen an old soul so accomplished at kicking giant hammered men out of bars, talking down someone who wanted to fight, or convincing big groups of bachelorettes that they really didn’t need another round of vodka shots. . No one can fill Tanya’s shoes. Our hearts go out to Mr. and Mrs. Hendry, Conar, and Brian. They are honorary Hatch family now and we can only hope that in time we can be there for them the way that T was always there for us. She loved her family more than anything. . Tanya would be the one to put a boot up our backsides and encourage us while we pulled ourselves together from this. She would also let us cry and cry with us. We encourage anyone who’s feeling hard hit by this loss to come talk to us or someone else. We’re going to channel some of her famous strength, self-assurance, and energy today and in the days ahead. For now and for always we’ll miss her but believe she’s somewhere out there looking out for her family and friends and being fkg rad. SIDE-A-HOT!!!!! See more
