Let's play! Pick 5 exercises, postures, or mindfulness practices. Write down how many reps, seconds, or minutes you intend to accomplish so that the total equals 212. Log what you've completed for each exercise, posture, or mindfulness practice round, then move onto the next one. Keep going until you've reached a total of 212.... *Adjust your goals as needed during each challenge session so that you can successfully reach 212 before you finish. ie. if your goal is to do 80 pushups and you're only able to do 4 rounds of 15, add on 20 reps, seconds, or minutes to another section that you know you can successfully complete. There is the possibility of uncovering your true potential by learning to identify the habitual patterns that build and hinder our growth. Once these "chains of action" have been unveiled we can then begin to formulate new habits that are more aligned with what we actually want, and not make unconscious decisions that detour us from our desired goals. A persons habits have the potential to influence their own psychological and mental well being. Building awareness of how our habits affect our daily lives is very important if we want to better understand how our conscious habitual practice will get us the results we truly desire. "With awareness we can make conscious choices, instead of letting our habitual thoughts and patterns run the show" - Tamara Levitt, Canadian author and mindfulness instructor.... Habitual awareness is the start, realizing that creating a chain of "actions" harnesses the power to form a habit, and the minute it becomes habitual, you can loose conscious awareness of it and it can become second nature. Atomic Habits A habit tracker is a simple way to create a system for establishing new habits and measure whether you did them or not. We understand that it can be difficult to rely on inspiration alone so we encourage you to take it one simple step at a time. Print out the Habit Tracker below, write down a few simple and achievable habits you'd like to create and try your best to not break the chain. "Don't break the chain" is a powerful mantra. Don't break the chain of workouts and you'll get fit faster than you'd expect. Don't break the chain of meditating and you can reduce anxiety without using medication. Don't break the chain of putting your phone away in the evening and see what positive effects might surface.
