APAWLA and several legal and community-based organizations of OC and LA County are calling on our allies to collectively grieve and stand in solidarity with all... AAPI communities. Together, we promote a mission of community care that prioritizes support for mental health, legal, employment, and immigration services. Violence against AAPI communities is part of a larger system of violence and racism against all communities of color, including Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities. We reject increased police presence or carceral solutions as the answers. In this time of crisis, we are coming together to build just communities, where we are all safe, where all workers are treated with dignity and respect, and where all our loved ones thrive. Join us for this women-led rally (Shoutout to the organizers - Frances, Sylvia and Van). APAWLA Board Member, Mia Yamamoto, and APAWLA President, Sandy Yu, will be speaking, along with amazing speakers from Thurgood Marshall Bar Association, Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Los Angeles, Project Kinship, Philippine American Bar Association, Filipino-American Lawyers of Orange County and VietRISE. #stopasianhate #stopaapi #antiracism In collaboration with: Filipino-American Lawyers of Orange County Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Los Angeles Project Kinship Orange County Asian American Bar Association @OC Alternate Defender's Office (APPDA) Asian Pacific Public Defenders Association of Los Angeles VietRISE Public Law Center Mental Health Advocacy Services Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association Philippine American Bar Association Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Los Angeles County (APABA) Cal-APABA - California Asian Pacific American Bar Association Coalition of Asian American Allies Latina Lawyers Bar Association @ Hub for Integration, Reintegration & Employment Orange County Women Lawyers Association Answer Coalition Orange County Korean American Bar Association @ Reef Mechanics Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles

Domestic violence affects millions of people, of every race, culture and status. This includes yelling, humiliation, stalking, manipulation, coercion, threats and isolation. It’s stealing a paycheck, keeping tabs online, nonstop texting, constant use of the silent treatment, or calling someone worthless so often they believe it. Since the Violence Against Women Act passed in 1994, the overall domestic violence rate has dropped by 2/3, while holding more offenders accountable for their actions. #DVAM #supportsurvivors #voiceshavepower

Ruth Bader Ginsburg will live on in our memories as a trailblazer for female leaders and a passionate champion of women’s rights. As the second woman on the Supreme Court, she consistently advocated for equality of the sexes, combatted female stereotypes, and paved the way for a new generation of empowered women.
