A group of Harbor enthusiasts are excited to brew up their 2nd Annual Ride of the Ventura Harbor Witches! They are scheduled to fly Friday, October 30 a...t approximately 3:30 pm. Yesterday @islandkayaking alerted us that their kayak tour had come across an entangled Sperm Whale calf. With help from @orcawatcher2 and @dustinhphotos we wer...e able to get detailed information to NOAA's Stranding Response team. Today we teamed up with @islandkayaking again and were able to track the calf until the team arrived to attempt to disentangle it. We are hoping for a positive outcome, but are already feeling good about the collaborative effort of so many passionate people working together to help protect and preserve our ocean wildlife! The Stranding Response team included @cimwi volunteers along with @condorexpresssb 's Capt. Dave Beezer and @towboatus_ventura 's Paul Amaral. The @channelislandsnps Marine Patrol boat assisted as well.
