The way snakes silently slither give some people the heebie-jeebies, but corn snakes, like Maisey are nonvenomous and don’t pose any threat to people. These gorgeous snakes are sometimes mistaken for the venomous copperhead, but they actually help farmers by eating mice, rats and insects that infest grain fields and storage buildings. Our advice: If you see a snake in the wild, give it lots of space and admire it from afar.

Sal is helping us spread the word about saving salamanders! They're having a hard time in the wild, and many species are in rapid decline. You can help by never removing them from the wild to keep as pets or to use as fish bait. Zoo Ed Caitlin. More: https://www.savethesalamanders.com/
