The California Energy Commission's School Bus Replacement Program awarded $1.95 million to Hanford Elementary School District to replace 5 diesel school buses with ELECTRIC BUSES. The program is helping schools throughout the state transition from old, polluting diesel school buses to zero- or low-emissions vehicles, improving children's health by limiting their exposure to transportation-related air pollution and building the green economy. HESD is proud of our new ELECTRIC ...BUSES and is the only school district in Kings County with electric buses on the road. Hanford citizens will be able to easily identify our new electric buses due to their green bumpers and rims. Thank you, California Energy Commission! HESD will be starting the school year on August 13 in Distance Learning. HESD is committed to providing our students a high quality Distance Learning experience. All students in grades TK 8 will receive a device Students needing WiFi access will receive a hotspot... All students will receive their grade level textbooks and materials Teachers will deliver live instruction daily Instructional minutes will mirror the in-person school day Instruction will follow HESD content pacing Attendance will be taken Work will be graded, and report cards issued Students will receive support academic and social-emotional HESD students will have access to district meals Information on picking up devices, textbooks, materials and meals will be sent from your child’s school site.
