TBT, to many years ago, when our @electroyogielectrolysis client Natalie snapped our pics for our web site, then iteration #3. We’re probably now on web site #6, and so many hundreds of wonderful clients later over Vanessa’s 7 years here with me at @electroyogielectrolysis . I guess you could call us the last goddesses standing. The past year, worsened by coronavirus, has been full of ups and downs. For members of my team to survive and thrive in these strange days, they h...ad to make choices to take care of themselves. In August of 2019, my beloved Robin, who worked with me since 2009, just two years into my practice, and who stayed with me and our clients faithfully each week for 10 years, had to move on so she could care for her family. Then, 2020 brought COVID, which immediately impacted us starting in February. Our new electrologist, Erin, whom I had sponsored through school and trained myself with countless hours, moved back home to ride out the covid storm. She had only been with us for 6 months. Other wonderful gals for many reasons have come and gone from our lives. And then, after these many months of closure, I had to make the very tough choice to say goodbye to Ronna, who was a beam of light and breezy air for us and our clients for almost a full year here. It just wasn’t financially sustainable to have three of us here, when our work is so limited due to the virus. And honestly, I didn’t feel safe with the notion of so much additional traffic, when my family are all working and schooling from home. So, we move forward. Vanessa serving you in Culver City 3 days, and here 1 day per week, and me, doing everything possible to keep this practice alive in devastating times. I love you all. We love you. We appreciate you. What does self-care look like to you? For me, especially since my @electroyogielectrolysis practice has been shut down due to covid, it’s been about a lot of breathing. Creating breathing room for self-care, walking, running, yoga at home, creative pursuits, philanthropy, quality time with my daughter and husband, and each one individually, taking the time to make a proper lunch. Self-care can feel like an elusive lover, especially when we’re under financial stress, worried a...bout health of loved ones, concerned over the state of world and domestic affairs, trying to take care of kids at home while working, and so many other unforeseen factors. And yet, in this time of being home more than not, and a slower pace, what more wonderful opportunity to double down on self-care, and our self-love? Take the extra walk- drag the kids along (or not), make the nice meal (if only for yourself, and especially for yourself,) and then just breathe, and appreciate the magical gift of another day alive. This is my wish for you today. When my electrolysis practice was shut down due to COVID mandates, as it has very sadly remained, I wondered what on earth I could do to try and earn an income, while fulfilling my ongoing life’s work of making a positive contribution to the world. We’ve all got a LOT on our plates these days. The world and the country feel like they’r...e falling apart. As you have all experienced, the effects of the global pandemic SARS2/COVID19 virus have been unprecedented, scary, uncertain, and are only just beginning here in the United States. For your health, ours, and all our loved ones, we at ElectroYogi have been monitoring the unfolding of guidance from the CDC, WHO, State of California and CA Department of Public Heath on a daily and sometimes moment by moment basis, and preparing to adjust accordingly. Based on the latest government mandate that all non-essential businesses close effective this evening, March 19th, ElectroYogi’s little green door will be closed for the foreseeable future until we learn that it is safe for you, us, and everyone here in CA to be in such close contact. Despite our immense protective measures and gear, at this moment in time we must turn inward to our homes, with our families, and ride out this virus’ spread in hopes to minimize its impacts.
