Anyone else feeling a little, eh?Here’s a flashback to when I had freshly done hair and feeling on top of the world. You know, the feeling that only a fresh balayage and cut can give you? Usually, like 99% of the time I am as positive as one can be. And I strive to stay in that positive place, but if I am being completely honest it’s really hard right now. Awe man I’m really missing getting my hands in hair! I am staying hopeful it won’t be much longer. I’m sure you’re all feeling the same way. Honestly though this time off has really been helpful with my head space. I know for me I get caught up in the everyday hustle and bustle of life. Barely taking the time to appreciate it all. So I am reflecting how much I appreciate all I hav won life. My health, my family, my friends, my amazing career and fabulous guests. Today I get to celebrate this cutie! My youngest is 7!! I’m not sure where the time went but it has been a wild ride. Today I’m going to put all the stress and worry away and I’m going to focus on my blessings. I know things are crazy right now but this will pass. So today I celebrate my son. What are you going to celebrate?

You know when you first meet someone and you’re like Yes! You’re my type of person! We could totally be friends!! isn’t it just the best! I absolutely love being able to build relationships with my guests. I truly feel like my part in this world is to do hair and make connections with people! This selfie was taken 3 minutes after I received a phone call from my sons school. I had just finished a pretty kick ass morning. 5 minutes before that call I got a call from my only client for the day. He needed to cancel. Life happens and that’s not the point of this post. I was really feeling on top of my world when my phone rang and it was the school office. Is everything ok I asked after the hello’s. Well we have Landon here in the office. Silence. We had... a minimum day today...and for the rest of the week. I didn’t even know what to say! I didn’t know I squeezed out. Somehow. Hopefully the immense sense of failure didn’t come out in my voice. Mom of the year once again! I work 10 to 15- minutes away from his school so it doesn’t take long to get there. And there were about 10 other kids there when I got there. But man that Mom guilt! That feeling in the pit of your stomach. The embarrassment. The feeling that someone will judge this post. And wonder how I let this happen. How I didn’t know that this week there were minimum days. How I forgot to sign up for a teacher conference. I don’t know. I can’t tell you why. But I try really hard to be the best mom. The best me, the best wife. Sometimes I drop the ball and that’s ok. But I’m here to tell you You can have it all but you can’t always do all the things! I’ve been working a lot. Not just behind the chair on clients but I’m working hard on my marriage. On my business. There is this never ending pull in ALL the directions. So for now I’m focusing on the big smile and hug I received when I did get to the school to get my boy and I’m going to take a deep breath. Drink a beer with my hubby an laugh about todays stumble.
