Yay!!!! We finally have the green light to get back to work!! This is exciting news!!! However, I have been overwhelmed with texts and phone calls and have every intention to get back to everyone ASAP on the waiting list to reschedule. Connie Harris, Ambre Rose Gilhooly, Ambre Rose Hair and I currently have some loose ends to tie up before opening next week (schedules will vary between us with start dates and times). We just found out today, so with very little notice ...we still have some things to take care of for everyone’s sake and the supplies we need to operate safely and efficiently. We ask that you all please stay patient with us in this new transition. We have many changes and it will take us a little bit of time to get our grooves back physically, mentally and creatively. Another step closer!!

Hello everyone! We are getting close to reopening, I can FEEL IT!!! Our team at the salon are patiently waiting for Phase 3 for our reopening, and are currently devising our game plans for all of our clients’ safety. Things will be different, but we will all adjust to a new norm together. Information about dates are still in the air, but we are expecting to hear more this week considering the next lift on the shelter-in-order is supposed to be this Friday, May 22nd. For ...many of you, I know this time of life has caused a lot of worry and discontent. That being said, any concerns you may have about the salon’s reopening and what we have planned, feel free to reach out with any questions or comments and I will be happy to answer. Keep in mind, we are already under works in our plan, and will be proposing them to everyone before our reopening and will keep you all in the loop the whole way. Even after our guidelines and protocols have been posted, we are open to hear from you about any additional thoughts. Reopening update: As directed by Governor Gavin Newsom (with his grown out hairdo) yesterday on 4/28/20, the press release informed us that we, Hair Stylists, are part of the Phase 3 of reopening. That being said, we are in Phase #1 and Phase #2 will be ruled out in the next couple of weeks. Phase #3 is months, not weeks. So this looking like end of June or into July?? We don’t know exactly when yet. Keep in mind, the beauty supply stores are not open for us to even o...btain supplies and chemicals, so that is our other indicator. I currently have clients that are scheduled all through the month of May and June, that I will gather the list according to order of appointments and will contact you personally when there is further clearance to perform personal services. Rather than rescheduling possibly a few more times, your name will come in order as it appears on my schedule for changes in the near future, so all appointments for May and June are now cancelled and I will contact you this week. I am heartbroken , anxious, and nervous of losing clientele and hope that you are in this with your hair magician to be there for you to not only brighten your hair, but your mind and soul when the day comes when I can return back behind the chair to Mettle in your hair. I have nothing but appreciation towards the years of loyalty of all of your visits with me, and trusting me with your locks. You provide for my family, you enrich my soul with conversation, you teach me something new everyday, you send gratitude with your smiles, and you trust me with more than just your hair. That being said, continue to be patient and show your support for me by waiting this out with me. I will stay connected and keep you all posted. Please be kind, this is not easy for anyone. An update to reopening to clients: There is currently a shelter-in-order in effect until May 1st. At this rate, I am waiting for guidelines from Governor Newsom, Sacramento County, and Cosmoprof /Salon Centric for when and how we can return behind the chair. I have been keeping all appointments tentative as this is a day-to-day process of the unknown on everyone’s end. I have several clients reaching out itching too get their hair done and wondering if appointments need to... be rescheduled. The answer is I cannot operate until orders are lifted and our team at the salon (Connie Harris and Ambre Rose Gilhooly Ambre Rose Hair) have a plan for not just our safety, but also for our clients- and we are working on that now. Fines are being hit hard on anyone who gets caught and our beauty supply stores are not even open for us to get the chemicals/products/supplies we need to operate. Please continue to stay patient with us in this unpredictable time, and we promise to fix it all with our magic hair wands as soon as we possibly can! I’ve been so happy to be able to keep up my nails while at home in quarantine myself. I miss my clients. I miss my coworkers. I miss the salon environment. I miss being creative with hair. I miss our chats. I miss the adult interaction. But one thing is for certain, I’m going to come back behind the chair more juiced than ever! I promise to take this time to educate myself more with more inspiring ideas and techniques. I promise to be there to hear your stories on how we have all gotten through this. I promise I haven’t taken you all for granted that you all w...ere a huge part of providing for my family. So promise me, stay away from your bangs, box dye, and scissors. DO deep conditioning treatments (coconut oil and honey are fabulous), lots of braids for strength, take those vitamins if you’ve been trying to grow that hair out (and for your immune system)wash your hair less- your hair will thank you, drink lots of water, wear more hats and find new fun ways to style your hair with clips and pins, and stay away from hot styling tools. With a heavy heart I am cancelling all of my clients for the next two weeks, and am rescheduling them all tentatively to see where this thing goes. This decision is very difficult for me being an independent contractor, but my best interests are keeping you and yours, as well as my family, safe and healthy, aside natural human response of need for greed and keeping my family afloat. This too shall pass, and it’ll all work out for the better. I have to quote my friend Heidi Jansson here for a second... and to all. I will be keeping in touch!

For my clients this coming weekend or the week following: Still checking in all families are doing well and limited contact has been made in smallest groups, if at all just with your own healthy family. I’m doing my best to stay home completely all week, not only for my own family, but for YOU. My only interaction is with a client or two, or three in one day (and I’m only in 2-3 days a week). My salon crew is trying very hard to have social distancing by working opposite days and away from one another if need be. Hope everyone Is managing okay, and if there are any concerns at all, feel free to reach out to me directly if you have a change of heart about scheduled appts. I won’t hate ya! Don’t work, don’t get paid! These will be my weekends for a while... slapping some lipstick on, hair up in bun, and drying out my skin from over-sanitizing and hand washing.
