Yesterday was nothing short of magic Swipe right to see the sweetest something old a wedding has ever seen- 12 year old Gus and 15 year old Eloise, who started their new lives with Taylor and Sean via @frostedface. Ps I know it’s Christmas puppy season, but try to also consider all the older pups that sit alone in shelters this holiday. Many are already socialized, have been trained, and only want a family to love them again. Their only flaw is not being a shiny new puppy, but they’re still just as beautiful. FINALLY got to return to my favorite shooting location, and it did NOT disappoint. Getting there is not for the faint of heart, and I cannot emphasize how rad Erin and Jonathan are- scaling boulders the size of buses, hanging out barefoot in the desert, dancing to oldies jams- it was altogether dreamy.

I can’t help but share a few detail shots from the last of my three wedding week last week. Baileigh and Evan decided that they were not going to wait until the end of the pandemic to declare their love, so in ONE WEEK they put together the most dreamy and romantic evening with their closest family and friends. It’s easy to see that their love is truly written in the stars

As much as I love a big wedding with all your friends and family, I’m also happy that we’re normalizing the idea of just you and your love on your special day. Micro weddings are definitely one of the best things to come out of this year. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Escobar!

Had the extreme pleasure of photographing Roseann and Robert to celebrate their engagement last night! This sweet couple has been together even longer than my hubby and I, which I think says A LOT about their love. Also I think it’s pretty amazing that there are so many high school sweetheart couples from my high school going the distance- we should start a club, y’all!

Throwing it back because spooky season is upon us and I’ll never be over this moody and beautiful session. We’ve got some really amazing spooky content coming in the next couple weeks and I cannot contain myself with excitement to bring my favorite season to life in front of my camera I’ll give y’all a hint about the upcoming project- it’s BYOL (Bring your own lingerie )

It’s almost September and you know what that means. I’ve already bought two pumpkin scented candles and I’m in full denial that it’s still technically summer. Literally all I want to do is put on a flannel, drive to our local mountains for a beer and a slice of apple pie, and go hard in the antique stores. Anyone else living for fall? Baby watch 2020 update for anyone that’s interested in my misery We’re 37 weeks 5 days, in fact on this exact day of my first pregnancy I went into labor. Lily June already loves showing off her skills and likely will either be an Olympic athlete based on how strong her legs are, or a doctor based on how great she is at finding my organs with her feet. Delivery during a pandemic is always in the back of my mind, and I’m trying to stay positive and focus on the light at the end of the tunnel- our little girl will come as soon as she’s ready

We’re 33 weeks pregnant today. Some days I am amazed at the wonders of the female body, how our bodies change to sustain and create life. Some days I feel like a goddess. Other days I cry in Costco and put a dirty diaper in the sink rather than the trash. Today is the latter, my friends.

It’s been a long, rough, stressful week that began with some traumatic events I’m still processing. I’m so thankful for my patient clients while I had to take a mental break. I’m getting back in the swing of things a little at a time, and trying to find a balance of energy to focus on my work and to focus on caring for my little Lily growing in my tummy. For now please enjoy this dreamy session from last weekend I’m just getting around to posting! My favorite human graduated high school today and I couldn’t help but get emotional when I thought about going to her fifth birthday party where she got an easy bake oven and had the world wrapped around her finger. I’ve seen many posts now clarifying that the blackout Tuesday movement may be clogging social media and preventing people from accessing important info pertaining to current protests and news. So I decided to delete my black square, and instead replace it with this graphic I made. No hashtags. No explanation. I don’t care if it gets seen. It’s only purpose is to let people know that I’m an ally, and I am patiently watching and listening. I don’t want my posts to interfere in ...any way with the movements that are gaining footing. The one thing I will say is that I learned yesterday that San Diego PD announced the immediate ban on carotid chokehold restraint, something that’s needed to happen for years. And today I’m proud to be an American and a San Diegan. Had a little fun with the Super Flower Moon last night. May’s full moon is known as the flower moon, because May is the month typically marked by the blooming of beautiful wildflowers. It symbolizes Mother Nature giving birth to beauty each spring, and thus also symbolizes our own fertility. So of course I wanted to get out in my yard and celebrate my growing belly in the moonlight. This pregnancy has been both easier and harder than my first; physically it’s much easier,... because my body knows exactly what to do this time around. But mentally and emotionally it has been exhausting, and impossible to not let forgotten traditions and failed expectations get to me in this time of global crisis. To all my fellow expectant mothers, please remember to take little slices of time for yourself. Remember that you’re a powerful life creating wonder, and not even a global pandemic can dull the beauty and magic of motherhood. See more

Mood because it’s Friday and also January is finally over

People ask me all the time, should we bring anything for our engagement photos? Props are all well and good, chalkboards are still adorable and I’ll always be happy to make your session match your vision. But you know what always makes your photos even more special? Bringing things you LOVE. Bring your favorite beer to toast your love, bring your dog because dogs make everything ten times better, whatever makes you feel genuinely warm and happy without the camera there- that’s what you should bring to your photos. You can only stage props so many ways, but there are so many different smiles and emotions to capture when you have two people in love, and simply put them in their element. @ Valley Of The Moon
