MEET OUR ATTORNEY -- STEPHEN RAAB Gutride Safier welcomed Stephen Raab to the firm late 2018. Stephen previously handled complex litigation and insurance coverage matters in the Pacific Northwest and in New York. Mr. Raab is licensed in New York, Oregon, and Washington. He received his juris doctorate from New York University and his bachelor of arts degree from Amherst College. Stephen is excited to represent consumer interests as a member of the Gutride Safier team.

MEET OUR ATTORNEY -- KYLE WILSON Kyle Wilson is an attorney at Gutride Safier LLP. Prior to joining Gutride Safier LLP, Mr. Wilson worked as an attorney at the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office, where he prepared appellate and habeas corpus briefs in numerous felony cases. As a student at Columbia Law School, Mr. Wilson was named a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar for his academic achievement. Mr. Wilson also volunteered as a policy intern for the Neighborhood Defende...r Service of Harlem, where he worked to assess the collateral consequences of criminal convictions in New York City, and provided pro bono legal services to indigent tenants as part of the Tenants’ Rights Project. Mr. Wilson is a member of the State Bar of California. Mr. Wilson received his juris doctorate from Columbia Law School, and his bachelor of science from the University of California, Los Angeles. On June 13, 2019, Judge Coughenour of the Western District of Washington handed a victory to consumers when he denied General Mills' motion to dismiss a lawsuit in which the plaintiffs allege that Cascadian Farm brand produce is deceptively advertised as grown on a farm in Washington, when the produce is actually grown around the world. In a hearing in San Francisco on June 12, 2019, U.S. District Judge William Orrick III ruled he will advance a class action accusing e-cigarette maker Juul Labs of building a multimillion-dollar e-cigarette empire by secretly designing a highly addictive product and hooking teens with "cool" ads and candy-like flavors. While a formal ruling has not yet been issued, it is likely that many of the plaintiffs' claims will proceed, including claims for false advertising, fraud, negligent misrepresentation, deceptive trade practices, design and manufacturing defect and failure to warn. MEET OUR ATTORNEY -- MATTHEW McCRARY Matthew McCrary is an attorney at Gutride Safier LLP. Prior to working with Gutride Safier, Mr. McCrary conducted complex litigation for McDermott, Will, and Emery, LLP and Baker & McKenzie, LLP. Mr. McCrary has experience litigating complex matters involving contract disputes and business torts, white collar crime, class actions, securities and antitrust issues. Mr. McCrary has successfully argued appeals before the United States C...ourt of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Mr. McCrary’s class action practice has spanned multiple industries including food and beverage, rental cars, and consumer electronics. On May 9, 2019, Gutride Safier moved for preliminary approval of a class settlement in the Seagram's case. Pursuant to the settlement, Coca-Cola has agreed to remove the "Made with Real Ginger" from its Seagram's product labels and allow purchasers to file a claim for a cash payment of up to eighty cents ($0.80) for each Product Unit of Seagram's purchased during the Class Period.
