Last reminder and then I'll shut up: I'm playing tonight with my old partner-in-crime John Khula at Ponsaty's Restaurant in Rancho Santa Fe Village. The food is first-rate and I promise the music won't suck. We play 7 to 10 PM. Same thing happens tomorrow night. Make a reservation for the patio. OK, I've done my part; your move.
The Greg Douglass Band will be making their first Ocean Beach appearance this Friday, November 11, at Mother's Saloon, a great, rockin', funky bar. Greg, the guitarist for Steve Miller, Van Morrison, Greg Kihn, Eddie Money, & Paul Butterfield and a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of fame, visited the bar a few months ago and fell in love with its great, funky vibe. The band plays 3 sets of killer classic rock, including a lot of Steve Miller. Show starts at 10 & ends at 1 AM, so you know the hard-core party crowd will be out in force! Looking forward to a loud, hot, sweaty fun night with some old and new fans!
Greg Douglass put together a killer CD with some of San Diego's top musicians, Larry Grano on drums, James East on bass, and, most importantly, singer Michael Muldoon, who co-wrote most of the tunes on the CD with Greg. Steve Miller's manager heard the CD and gave the band a slot most bands would kill for, opening for Dave Mason and Greg's old boss, Steve Miller, at the Sonoma Music Festival. Unfortunately, that show was canceled but fortunately for you, Greg and the boys arr...anged a couple of warm-up shows. The first is at the beautiful and intimate Old Del Dios Fire House near the Lake Hodges Area in Escondido. The music will be world-class and you can buy the CD to take home with you as a souvenir of a night of music you'll want to hear over & over. Check out the link below for more information. Tickets are $20 in advance , $25 at the door, and, apply, they are selling fast so do not hesitate; go on Greg's web site and grab one...or two...or a whole dang bunch....today. Paypal makes it easy! I'm throwing the first CD release party for my latest and best collection of songs with an astonishing group of San Diego musicians, Greg Douglass and the Accomplices. It is by far the best recorded music I've done during my amazing fifty-year career. The venue is great, the players are astonishing, and it's a rare chance to see two hours of world class music in an intimate venue at the Del Dios Fire House. Tickets are available on my web site or you can call (760)212-3648 to reserve tickets, OR you can contact me at my web site (see the link below). Easier yet, if you have a Paypal account, use it to buy tickets. Tickets are $20 i advance, $25 at the door. Quickly now: my last last show at the Fire House sold out so jump on it! It'll be a night to remember with the best musicians in Southern California!

I'm celebrating my return to Dusty's Music in Oceanside by inaugurating my Guitar Instruction page on Facebook. I'm also teaching at Steel Guitars of North County and at my private studio in beautiful lake Hodges in Escondido directly behind Hernandez Hideaway. Times may be tough, but don't make the mistake of neglecting the right side of your brain or, more importantly, your child's brain. Studies show that children who learn to play an instrument improve their learning skil...ls in every other academic area. It's also great for anyone's self-confidence to be able to play music. I was the uber-dork at Las Lomas High school until I became a guitarist. Once I played my first concert at the high school gym, I was instantly as cool as any football player. Learn three chords and you can rule the world! Call (760)212-3648, email [email protected], or message me through Facebook to sign up or get more info. See more
