Guardians of Garden Grove Botball Robotics Team

We are very proud of our team this year! We got a Judge’s Choice Award for Outstanding Engineering, got 15th place overall, 12th in Seeding, 16th in Double Seeding, and made it into the 1st of the 4 brackets!

July 10th (4th Day of GCER): Double Elimination began, and our team got the chance to attend a workshop, go to the feedback session, practice, and listen to a guest speaker. Additionally, while we were practicing, we were on botball’s livestream, as seen on the screen.

July 8th (2nd Day of GCER): Our team participated in the seeding rounds in which each team runs their robots 3 times on the board without another opponent in order to score as high as possible. Our team did extremely well in seeding by scoring 12th place out of 72 teams!!!

July 7th (First Day of GCER): In addition to practicing, two of our team members presented our onsite documentation to two judges. Throughout our 8 minute presentation, we had to cover our team’s structure, programming, and design of the robots. We are happy to report that it was a success!

July 7th (1st Day of GCER) Here is a photo of some of our team members practicing with our robots. The first day of GCER we were allowed 7 hours of practice!

July 6th (The Day Before GCER) After an early morning flight from LAX to Texas and a drive from Texas to our hotel in Norman, OK, our team finally got to check into our hotel rooms and reassemble the robots which we had to pack into carry on suitcases for the flight.
